I first became aware of "The Miracle of Damascus" from reading an article by Father Robert Fox. We used to have the 3 video set in our parish library. It's most interesting.FYI and discussion.

Message of Our Lord to Mirna in Damascus
Feast Day of Our Lady of Soufanieh, November 26, 2001

My children,
I offer Myself to you.

The act of adoration, meditation, thanksgiving and spiritual companionship makes Me happy, but you will only find perfection by your union around the altar.

I offer you My Body and Blood as proof of My fidelity and My love. Accept from Me this Sacrament with trust and faith. This Sacrament consoles you and gives you strength and wisdom and makes you grow in grace.

Difficult days await you: disturbances in the interior of the Church. Division constitutes a danger for he who does not have true peace.

Don't let yourself be defeated. Don't pay attention to the judgment against you by others. Do not defend yourself and do not ask what I have prepared for you. It is I who look after your problems because you are the work of My hands.

Show Me your love because through love I walk by your side, and through the Sacrament I unite Myself to you.

Do not forget that I am the cause of your existence on earth and the reason for your happiness in heaven.

When my parents lived in the Holy Land, they travelled to Syria and met Mirna and her family. My father (Freeper "history matters") completely believes in the validity of the messages and the messenger (which is in contrast to his opposition to promoting Medjugorge). At Da's request we have an Our Lady of Soufanieh ikon on my father's bedside table in the hospital together with an image of Our Lady of Knock, and an olive wood crucifix that was carved in Bethlehem.

Can you give an update of your father? Thanks! And thanks as well for detailing your father's experience with this Miracle. I approach these things very warily and I am heartened when someone like your Dad backs them - Medjugorje is very scary to me, and I am glad he feels some reservation towards that one.

Thank you Lady in Blue for this post. It is the first time I had heard of it and I will certainly look further into the whole thing. What is your opinion? Are you a Medjugorje person?

I have some really good news. My father has feeling again in his feet and legs, which is nothing short of miraculous. He spends his time in prayer most of the day. He tells me to pass the word that we need to seek Padre Pio's and St. Catherine of Siena's intercession for the Bishops' meeting in Dallas.

Having lost a number of friends over the past 10 years I guess I've grown wary of asking how a person may be doing but just waiting to hear what I hope will be good news. I have been wondering ... thanks for the update. Your Dad and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

Thank you for the very interesting post. I had not heard of this one at all. I wonder why? Just reading the details of it convinces me. This is in contrast to Medjugorje which has always made me uneasy. I think when the Holy Mother makes her presence known, she leaves no doubt that She was there.

Why do you think the Medjugorje people have been trying to suppress this? Is it money, fame, or power? During the past twenty years those 'seers' have been all over the world giving talks, yet this woman, Mirna, has not received the same recognition. IIRC, there is a woman in Korea who has the stigmata also?

Outstanding news Siobhan. I guess I should have realized he didn't have sensation in his legs due to his medical condition. I guess I just didn't want to think about that, but anyway, I am glad he is healing!!!!

Bookmarked for later reading. I am usually skeptical of these things, however if Catholic and Orthodox Bishops approve it, there must be something to it.
