That’s right. It’s the celebration 🎊 of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ.
If you go by the Hebrew calendar, Jesus was crucified on a Wednesday.
Well his death was Passover related because jesus blood saved as well...just differently.
We should not have to Defend Easter from a Catholic President.
Not watching a vid of someone entertaining this ridiculous debate. Pagan myths? WTH?
Supplant Ishtar’s customary fertility rites? (eggs, rabbits, bouquets, new Easter bonnets?)
Isn’t transgender awareness day a pagan myth?
Here, on the very first Trans Day, we should be acutely aware of when and how religions and regimes tend to paste over the holidays of the old with their new.
And with that:

Joseph: “It’s just for the weekend”.
OMG!
Will all you people just STOP!
It was Wednesday, Pagan, Pagan, Pagan.
As No Name Given said “ It’s the celebration 🎊 of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ.”
That’s IT! All that other stuff doesn’t matter.
JESUS DIED FOR YOUR SINS! HE PAID THE PRICE FOR US
He rose from the dead to show us that we too could have everlasting life through Him.
He SUFFERED excruciating pain and humiliation FOR YOU!
And all you can talk about are dates, Pagans, bunnies, and eggs!
The TWO most important events in human history, His death and resurrection.
Matthew 7:13-14 NIV
The very words of Jesus.
“13“Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. 14But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.”
What you should really be concerned with is are you among the “few” or the “many”.
Depends on what part of Easter you’re talking about. The timing? Sure Passover. Bunnies laying eggs? Those are pagan spring rites, symbols of fertility.
The reality is that religion, like music, is additive. One culture sees another and says “we wanna do that”. So they figure out their excuse to have a similar party and the next thing you know there’s yule logs and fertility symbols in Christianity.
But, really, don’t worry about it. Celebrate what you want how you want. Just don’t go complaining about Halloween.
There’s always a holiday on top of a holiday - research any holiday you can think of and you’ll find a predating holiday. Holidays tend to cluster around predictable events in the natural world, i.e., the turn of a season or the arrival of a migrating animal, the solar year, etc.
Early Xtian evangelists would superimpose a saint’s holiday over traditional pagan holidays to encourage/facilitate crossover-ism.
On the other hand, I’m not one of those zeitgeist boring a$$holes who will claim every Xtian holiday was built upon a pagan myth and that the crucifixion and resurrection are SIMPLY METAPHORS for the harvest season/the solar cycle/weather phenomena/etc etc etc. (Oh how some of them WISH Jesus was just a story!)
The telling of the story of the crucifixion and resurrection in early texts does follow a pattern that was common in storytelling at the time, however, having to do with the pagan deity Dionysius (Zeus’s son). The story of the Bacchae was well known and present in the expanding world of the ME in Jesus’s day. The Greeks, who played a great part in creating the Bible we know today, were certainly more than familiar with it and so our Easter story has a number of elements that put it sort of in the same arena as Euripides’s tale. (Dionysius dies and goes to h3ll in one of Aristophanes’ plays, too. Very common theme.)
The storytellers who gave first form to our Easter story were arranging the story on a familiar model that the average person of the day - who was probably some version of what we would consider a pagan - could relate to. The tales of Jesus and all the cool things he did came first - the faith came later.
Oh, and:
HAPPY EASTER, EVERYONE! HALLELUJAH!
Learned the other day an interesting factoid that bears some pondering imo.
Jewish tradition is such that if someone sells, whether forced to sell, or not, they have 7 years to buy their property back (which means the buyer must hold the land for 7 years incase the person who sold wants it back). If after 7 years they can’t purchase it back, it becomes legally the purchaser’s land to do with as they like. But, if so eone in the original owner’s family comes forward and pays during the 7 years, it reverts back to the original seller, or the relative keeps it themselves.
Now, the interesting point that i learned is that God “gave the planet to man” (or,rather gave him control of all the land and everything in it) and said it was all his “except for” the tree of knowledge of good and evil
Man in his stupidity forfeited the “land” (ie, world) and gave control of the land (sold the land as it were) to Satan. Satan has been lord of the land ever since, but, christ died to redeem the planet, and will very soon be coming back to reclaim the land very soon.
We Christians have been purchased by the blood of christ, and he is coming back very soon to claim us as his own. Th3 evil one will be defeated, and the whole earth will go through a rebirth/cleansing, and we will finally get to enjoy creation the way we were meant to without the stain of sin corrupting everything.
Another point that was brought up that struck me was that God knew us “past present and future”, even before we were born, and he knew we would fail all through life miserably, backsliding, falling into sin, some even turning their backs on God etc, yet he chose us despite all our faults, all our warts, and Imperfections etc. He CHOSE to love us even when we turn our back on him, or get angry with him, or wish we were never born. And he showed his love for us by sending his own son to die a brutal death which so disfigured his son thst he was unrecognizable from the severe beatings which he took because he loved us so much!
God will always choose to love his own no matter what we do- but, his love means at times discipline, and sometimes even premature physical death because WE CHOOSE that path after salvation.
What is the will of the father? Simply that we worship God and love one another (within reason, ie love does not excuse someone else’s abusing us, using us, but rather love dictates that we be firm in our opposition to ungodly acts agaisht us- but this is another topic for another day)
ping for later.
Romans 14:5
God made sure that He told us these are "His" days, not ours to shuffle around. Jesus died on Passover, was buried on Unleavened Bread, and was raised on "First Fruits".
The church was born on Pentecost after the resurrection of Yeshua.
The next Feast Day listed is "Trumpets". This is the day that believers will be "raptured". On some Trumpets in the future, the Last Trump will sound and God will take His people. This is the reason Christians need to Follow the Jews to learn that Trumpets is the only day that is called the "day that no one knows the day or hour it will come. Trumpets is the only Feast that starts with a New Moon. The rest start with a visible moon. The only time "the Last Trump"is blown is on Trumpets.
The next day listed is "Atonement", or Judgment Day.
The next day will be "Tabernacles" It was set up in Egypt for God to be with His people, or "God with us" in the "wilderness", which is down here on earth. This is when Jesus was born, NOT Christmas. Christmas was set up by the RCC again to celebrate Tammuz, Nimrod's son. Jews know these things but Christians have been confused by the RCC and not reading their Bibles.
The truth is there, but pastors just continue the "traditions of men" and celebrate pagan days instead of what God told His people. Tabernacles will be the time that God comes back to earth to live with His people for a thousand years and it was the day that Jesus came the first time to live with us.
The days we should be observing are the days God listed in Leviticus 23. God's Word tells us these days but Man has changed these days to follow pagan traditions.
One way to look at it is "WWJD"? Jesus observed all the so called "Jewish" Feasts Days. In Truth, these days belong to all believers. The First Church Jesus formed went to church on Saturday Sabbath and didn't observe "Easter" and "Christmas". All Christians observed these days for almost 400 years until they were threatened by the Pope with excommunication or death. I hope all Catholics would study their past and see what is wrong with their belief system. They have murdered more Believers than all others combined over the centuries and made up "rules" to hold their power. In my opinion, they are the Babylonian religion spoken of in Scripture.
They answer a claim by some fool that Astarti, the name of a Babylonian goddess, was very similar to Easter. The fool goes on to point out that worship of Astarti was introduced into ancient Britain. Therefore, Easter is pagan in origin.
The “logic” is so stupid it makes my head hurt. First of all Christianity and the celebration of Jesus’ resurrection did not start in Britain. Also the holiday has never been called “Easter” in most of the world, including the countries where Christian belief first took hold. It’s called Passover in those countries. It’s only called Easter in English speaking countries. I think German speaking countries also. Christian belief came to Britain and Germany much later than the places that call it Passover.
