That wasn't a teaching or an understanding of the people in the bible. It came hundreds of years later.
Plus, again, you conflate teachings of Israelites and Jews to teachings of Christians.
I don't think I am. I think you're following a belief system that has made the word of God to no effect.
The new covenant under Christ that freed us from the law and ceremononies did not start until Jesus died,
What was changed under the new covenant is VERY specifically defined especially in the book of Hebrews...the priesthood is changed, animals sacrifices are no longer needed because the death of Christ covered that. But no mention of the Sabbath being substituted or done away with. In fact the actions of Paul and the first chrisitians gathering together on the Sabbath is refutation of that Satanic lie. And the Sabbath is not just a ceremony. And though it can and is included in covenants it clearly was created long BEFORE it was incorporated into any covenant. It exists OUTSIDE of any covenant.
Someone has convinced you that a commandment of God is an optional ceremony. You need to go by the bible and not tradition.
You know, it is one thing to claim you believe the Sabbath is still in play, but you go so far as to twist Scripture to allow yourself to still be under the law.
As I stated, Abraham never practiced the Sabbath, and neither did Moses and the Israelites Until God instituted it.
I am, NOT A JEW!!!!
I am a Christ follower, and like Abraham, I am saved by grace through faith.
Like Abraham Jacob and Issac, I can worship God on any day of the week.
You claim to be a Christian, but desire to hold onto institutions that are not doing you any good. You expect to be saved any your works, I got faith. I am saved by the blood of the Lamb, and thus free of obligations that the Jews were under,
Yes, the Sabbath was for the Jews.
——>What was changed under the new covenant...
And what didn’t change was God’s law, as quoted from Jeremiah 31:
16“This is the covenant I will make with them
after those days, declares the Lord.
I will put My laws in their hearts
and inscribe them on their minds.”
Those who claim Christ as their savior keep his holy 10 commandment law. It’s as simple as that. Say you love Him and don’t keep His commandments? That person is a liar and will not be in heaven.
Sunday worship goes back to the time of the Apostles, according to scholar Gary Habermas, not hundreds of years.
