Guilt is the Holy Spirit’s way of telling you that you screwed up. Listen to It.
I’m not a Joyce Meyers fan but her statement is true. The key here is repented and accepted forgiveness. Satan does want to kee you wrapped up in guilt.
even after you sin and you’ve repented and you’ve been forgiven, he’ll come back around and try to accuse you.
She’s half right. All sin past present and future is forgiven when one repents.
But if we are born again we ought to be going against our sin because we fear God with a healthy fear.
“She’s half right.”
She worded it very poorly. We are guilty of the sin. Even after we are forgiven we were still guilty. The better way of saying is is after we were forgiven by Jesus we were acquitted of that sin.
I do.
Nothing new under the sun- same kind of apostates back in Paul’s day were saying the same thing- ie “Sin all you want so that God’s grace can abound”-
Paul called them out for the false preachers and liars that they were-
OK, don’t beat yourself up. Just stop it and ask forgiveness.
Hey Joyce- The ‘guilt feeling” you felt was not Satan- it was the Holy Spirit trying to get you to repent- so what you are telling us is that you have succeeded in silencing the work of the Holy Spirit in your life which convicts people of sin- You must feel so liberated /s
While we stand in righteousness before God- blameless- Redeemed- We still are accountable for each and every sin we do after salvation- sin causes problems for oneself and others- and has far reaching effects onm earth- which is why God says “Do not do these things” and why the Holy Spirit touches our consciences when we do them- We still need to “Get right with God” because current present sin separates us from a close fellowship with God- That is very clear throughout God’s word- -
All sin is unholiness and separates us from God.
We are not given permission to sin by accepting Christ.
We are required to repent of our sins, even after accepting Christ.
Well stated- and all true-
Ah do what you want, if you want to live in eternity surrounded by the Love of God, stop sinning, repent and try harder, you want to spend eternity separated from the Love of God just do what you want. Simple.
Define “guilt.”
“Guilt” and “shame” really aren’t something we Christians should be simmering in. “Conviction,” yes. But shame and guilt ... not really.
Rather than dwelling in guilt, we should focus on God’s love, grace, and forgiveness. Through prayer, we can seek His guidance, find comfort, and ask for His help to resist temptation and live a life that honors Him
I feel guilt just clicking on the link with that clown-woman’s name.
Repent.
I’ve had more than one person, some of them “preachers”, tell me that once I am saved by accepting Jesus I am going to Heaven, no matter what I do after I am saved. I could murder somebody and it wouldn’t stop me from rejoicing in the glory of paradise because, well because I was “saved”.
These are the same people who told me that the lies people told in order to save Anne Frank from the Nazis were sins — sins as bad a murder because “all sins are equally bad”.
Strange what people believe.
Amen.
It can also be called a "well formed conscience".
Absolutely correct: Listen to it.
David murdered someone and he is in heaven.
