Fr. James Altman, the priest behind the viral video, “You cannot be Catholic and a Democrat”. He now has released another video claiming “Pope Francis is not the Pope”. Father James Altman is an inspiring Roman Catholic priest who has dedicated his life to serving God and spreading the message of the Gospel. Originally from the Diocese of Marquette, Father Altman was an attorney who had a family practice in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, when he answered the call to the priesthood. Graduating from the University of St. Mary of the Lake’s Mundelein Seminary outside Chicago, Father Altman was ordained to the priesthood by Bishop Jerome E. Listecki at the Cathedral of St. Joseph the Workman on June 28, 2008.
Following ordination, his first assignment was as chaplain and teacher at Assumption High School and associate pastor at Our Lady Queen of Heaven, both in Wisconsin Rapids. He moved to Ss. Peter and Paul, Wisconsin Rapids, on March 1, 2009. One year later he was appointed the parish’s administrator and installed as pastor by Bishop Callahan on Dec. 19, 2010.
Fr. Altman gained worldwide recognition after filming the now viral video entitled, “You cannot be Catholic & a Democrat”

Message isn’t getting through. How many Roman Catholics vote for dims? Has pelozi been kicked out? Or plugs?
Is that rhetorical?
Your mom was wise beyond time!
Quite a bit do.
When I was Catholic there were plenty of proud dim voters among my parents inner circle.
Fr. Pavone should join the SSPX, I’m sure they would take him.
“Your mom was wise beyond time!”
That was when she was about 24 years old, and Dad had just taken his first pastorate. (Spunky preacher’s wife for 50+ years.)
That is an awesome story!
You should be very proud. Your parents raised you right too I see :)
“You should be very proud.”
I really am. She turned 99 last month. Still spunky. Still living on the old family homestead. My sis (Baldwin77) and I are visiting next her next week.
Roman War Criminal can speak for himself, but it sure doesn’t appear rhetorical to me. If Fr Altman can decide that the pope’s not the pope because he supports and promotes many sinful and even heretical beliefs, why can’t Roman War Criminal decide that any Catholic who clicks onto GP is not Catholic because they’re advancing the website of an open homosexual?
I’m sure he was being facetious, but his point is well taken. The only one who judges the pope is God. Pope Francis is not a good pope even if measured by the lowest of standards. Yet, as Catholics, Fr. Altman and the rest of us are bound by our faith to accept this terrible man as the pope.
Oh yeah, in case he hasn’t thought it completely through, when the reign of Pope Francis comes to a close, who does Fr. Altman think the next pope will be? Archbishop Carlo Maria Vigano? Don’t think so.Almost certainly it will be someone that’s even far less faithful than Pope Francis. Is Fr. Altman going to be telling us that he’s not the pope either? Is he saying that’s the end off the Church?
I like Fr. Altman but he’s way off base. The Church is in serious trouble. You could bring back St. Pope Pius X and put him in as pope again and nothing will change. The fault lies with the bishops. Until they abandon Vatican II and the Novus Ordo Mass nothing will change.
Yes I was being facetious - and I am a proud FORMER Roman Catholic.
Thanks for playing...
You both give her a hug from me next week - sounds like she is a precious Sister-in-Christ.
Firm believers still fighting the good fight in faith for Him keep me going!
