Isn’t the King of England considered the Supreme Head of the Church of England and has been since Henry the VIII
Not really a religious leader but at least something
He’s supposed to be a religious leader. Ol’ Hank took it seriously. Some of his successors also have, others not so much.
Kings statement is: He is keeper of the faiths. . .used to say Keeper of the faith.
Charles made this change to accommodate muslims. Rejected.
correct, the reigning monarch is the head of the Church of England. I have serious doubts that chuck even believes in God and it was 1 of the reasons I converted from C of E to Catholicism
Yes and the Church of England was founded by Henry VIII and as the head of that new Church divorced his wife, Queen Catherine. Of course during his marriage to her he committed adultery numerous times with various women but got on especially well with Anne who wanted to be the new Queen Anne. She got her way.
After that the so called pious Henry had Queen Anne beheaded and married another. She didn’t please him anymore.
Charles as the head of the same church had an affair with Camilla while married to Diana. I get Camilla was around first but well then that is fornication.
Things haven’t changed so much but the scripture says “If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church. And if he refuses to listen even to the church, regard him as you would a pagan or a tax collector” ~ Matthew 18:17
So Henry VIII was excommunicated. It’s not a great resume but he still got the job as head of the Church of England.
I’ve often wondered how the members of the Church of England reckon with this history. Personally I can’t see how God can put His blessings on that Church.
