Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. James 1:2-4

So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you have to endure many trials for a little while. These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold – though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world.1 Peter 1:6-7

Thank You Lord Jesus for a time that we can gather with friends and family and give thanks.

Lord we also think about those who can not do that now, the homeless and those in the various wars occurring in the world. Here we have warm houses and plenty of food, they do not. So we remember that you hold all things together, you know the future and you know how to prepare us for that. We pray that we would not only lift them up in prayer but also share what we have with them. For a time is coming that we may go through the same trials.

Things have not gone the way we had hoped in our nation, we leaned t0o heavily on the political system and not you. We trust you, for you know how to prepare us for the time you are returning, because it may be shorter than we had imagined.
