Marjorie Taylor Greene: I Was Raised Catholic, but Wicked Bishops Have ‘Driven Me Away’ from the Church

‘Mrs. Greene's statement about leaving the Church is as enlightening as it is saddening,’ commented Michael Hichborn, president of the Lepanto Institute.

(LifeSiteNews) – Following criticism of comments she made about the U.S. Catholic bishops, conservative firebrand U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene revealed that she was raised Catholic but left the Church “with great sorrow” when she had kids because she had concerns about the left-wing hierarchy protecting abusive priests.

“With great sorrow, and unwavering faith in Jesus Christ, I stopped attending Catholic Mass when I became a mother, because I realized that I could not trust the Church’s leadership to protect my children from pedophiles, and that they harbored monsters even in their own ranks,” the now-evangelical said in a lengthy statement.

The Georgia Republican was responding to the Catholic League’s Bill Donahue, who slammed her for suggesting in an interview with Church Militant’s Michael Voris that “Satan is controlling the Church.”

“The Church is not doing its job. And it’s not adhering to the teachings of Christ,” she added.

“It’s the Church leadership I was referring to when I invoked the Devil,” Greene clarified on Twitter. “Just so we’re clear, bishops, when I said ‘controlled by Satan,’ I wasn’t talking about the Catholic Church. I was talking about you.”

“The Catholic Church must throw out these monsters instead of lecturing the people its own bishops have driven away,” she continued, blasting the U.S. Catholic bishops as “some of the worst in the world” and “scheming bureaucrats in miters.” It was the “bishops’ wickedness” that drove her out of the Church, Greene said, and her own refusal to “submit the spiritual and physical livelihood of my children to these monsters.”

Greene, who is sometimes referred to as “MTG” (à la “AOC”), went on to say what many faithful Catholics who.......

Apologies for not having made it more plain: There was no sin in the Garden BEFORE Adam sinned.

“His willingness to cover the cost and make salvation free to us is extroidnary.”

Indeed, and God be praised for it.

There was no sin in the Garden BEFORE Adam sinned.

Adam's sin would have to be before Satan lied to Eve. Do you count Satan's lie as sin?

I’m afraid I’m not understanding you, Seven. Sorry.

“Adam’s sin would have to be before Satan lied to Eve.”

Can you explain to this idiot what you mean? Do you mean that in order for Adam’s sin to be the first sin, it would have to have been before Satan lied to Eve?

I am not sure if I understand either. I think sin goes hand in hand with free will. God is dealing with the issue of sin in this world because it will not come into play again in eternity. God will bring us to a place where we will view sin as he does. The knowledge of good and evil is a heavy weight.

Well, you had a very good question. I was going to say that Satan’s sin would have been of a different sort as he was not created for fellowship with God in the way we are created, and that God gave the commandment to not partake to Adam alone.

So, yeah, I’d say there was sin in Satan before the sin of Adam and Eve occurred because Jesus tells us that Satan was a murderer from the beginning. But with that said, that we are to focus on the sin of man in relation to God.

(I hope to goodness you play chess, Seven!)

Perhaps the failure to differentiate 'death' as expressed in physical life and 'death' expressed in spiritual life is the sticking point?

The spirit is that part of each human which is not going out of existence. The physical body is temporal to the extreme since it will go out of existence, returning to the atomic dust from which is is made. The spirit in a human being descended from Adam has eternal existence, yet can exist in a state of deadness or 'liveness'.

when Genesis tells us that God breathed into Adam's nostrils and Adam became a LIVING soul, we would read that to mean God Who Is Spirit breathed In Spirit into Adam, giving life to the spirit Adam possessed as he was created. Every human descended from Adam has a body, a soul or behavior mechanism of mind, emotion, and will, AND a spirit. The spirit has dimensional variable existence which is not time limited, so that part of every human existsin a state which is not limited to our temporal accounting, it exists in a forever, either with God given life or sin given deadness.

Our behavior mechanism sins, trapping our spirit in trespasses and sin, separating us from the righteousness of God. BUT GOD through the Grace of God in Christ, can separate the spirit from the soul of sin and death (Hebrews, the two-edged sword passage),making it clean from sin thus a part of the redeemed / born agains which has God abiding therein, and His Life is eternal liveness to us.

"We have to take it that Adam and Eve were the first humans, and so accept that there weren’t others defiling the rest of the world."

When God made Adam and derived Eve from Adam, it might be that these two had something unique, a spirit component, a part which was niot existing in hominids which were already created and on the Earth. I have yet to find direct correlation to this notion in the Bible, but it would explain the fossil record of very ancient hominids.

There is the hint when the Bible tells us Cain went off into the land of nod and took to himself a wife. At that point in scripture no sisters are in evidence, so the genetic closeness of some female not descended from Adam is hinted at. Any off spring would however be descended from Adam thereafter and thus have the spirit component. It is speculation only so take for what its worth as speculation.

No, that is not the proper perspective. Sin exists ONLY where disobedience to God exists. IF there were ancient hominids without a spirit inhabiting the Earth in the days of Adam, then they would not be able to sin since they had no spirit component ... The God is Spirit and muist be worshipped in spirit and truth. Before the Law, ‘God winked at their sin’. The power of sin is the law. When we are no longer under the law but under the Spirit wecannot sin in spirit because there is no power of law over our spirit with God abiding therein.

Thanks so much for this particular post, MHG.

I think we all struggle with the question of Cain’s wife and other things early in the Book of Genesis. There’s also the question of the Gap Theory in Genesis with the word “hayah.”

Gen 1:2 And the earth was (HAYAH: became) without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

I used to drive myself crazy over these questions. Could it have been that there was a creation that went wrong like in Noah’s day and now in our own time? Could there have been many? And were there “people” outside the Garden of Eden?

On Cain finding a wife in the land of Nod, it reads that he knew his wife there. So, dunno. Can be taken either way.

So maaaaaany questions!

I think we all struggle with the question of Cain’s wife and other things early in the Book of Genesis. There’s also the question of the Gap Theory in Genesis with the word “hayah.”

Cain married one of his sisters, or maybe even a niece. I don’t think there were the same genetic problems then, that there are now. Are we even sure Cain and Abel were the first two born. They may very well have been exactly that, but I think Eve was having babies regularly, for maybe 500 years, or more. By the time Cain killed Abel, hundreds of years May have passed, with maybe thousands of people on the earth, as Eve’s daughters were having babies too, not just Eve.

As far as the gap theory goes, who knows for sure? Donald Grey Barnhouse wrote about it in the Invisible War. If there was a gap, caused by Satan’s rebellion and fall, it might have lasted billions of years, before God fixed it. I keep an open mind about it, but since it’s not a salvation issue, I think it’s not that important. What I will say, however, is that it seems out of God’s character, to create anything that is void and without form. Everything that God creates, is good and perfect and beautiful. Hope that helps. 😊😀

We have record of three sons born to Adam: Cain, Abel, and Seth, then more sons and daughters.

No answer to your demand to know who God prays to? Yeah, didn’t think so.

For pity’s sake, man, it looks like you get so worked up at the slightest thing that you unthinkingly commit blasphemy.

Was the dopamine hit worth another 7 years in Purgatory, or whatever you Catholics believe?

The reality of the catholic eucharist is lifted from the pagan practices. Instead of a remembrance the catholic org performs a pagan ritual pretending to ingest the body, blood, soul, and divinity of GOD by eating Him piece by piece.

Pagan Ritual? again with that?

Do you think St. Paul would force upon Corinth and others a Pagan Ritual?

Remembrance?

Yes, The Eucharist is Thanksgiving Remembrance for what Christ has done for us- as was the Passover a remembrance of Moses and Co. out of Eygpt

Though Now as a NEW Passover, fulfilling the Old...
This though, for a Personal Exodus from a slavery to sin-
Much more personal than free a people from a nation,
from bandage to other people or nation...
So this New Passover Meal is meant to be decidely different...
While at the same time a fulfillment of the Old.

And that's what Christ conveyed in the Upper Room-
St. Paul warned of his converts to Christianity.
And why the Early Church Fathers held to
The Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharist.
And even though it is undeniably documented - its not evidence at all for you.
You ask of those to jettison the Faith in what Christ asks us to believe,
for what exactly? ... Wales?
In this new Passover we call the Eucharist -
as handed down by the Apostles-
We proclaim (Adore, Glorify) Christ's Death,
until HE Comes Again...

So,,, as far as your thinking of Pagan ritual...

You know very well of the Essenes of Christ's day, most probably the First Jewish converts to Christ's ministry-
known by John the Baptist - and probably St. John - and even St. Paul may possibly crossed paths with followers of this very devout sect of Jews- who, like Jesus, also railed against the corruption of the Temple by the Pharisees-
And so you know of their Daily ritual meal - with it's Priestly Consecrated blessing of Bread and Wine in Thanksgiving- and their reverence awaiting the Messiah...
They were Devout Jews, Not Pagans...
I Would like to actually draw a comparison from the Essenes,
to the Last Supper/Eucharist but we can't - though its similarities to the Last Supper scripture beg more explanation of what went down there...
Do you think some Essene elements can be found in the New Covenant?

So don’t expect responses to each one.

Again with the lotsawords but all demonically inspired to support the great blasphemy BY IGNORING WHAT GOD SAID ABOUT EATING THE BLOOD. Your dead soul disconnect is so obvious by just noting what Elsie pointed out regarding Jesus in the flesh, in person, breaking the bread and giving it to His dicsiples establishing The Remembrance, before He went ot he cross and without tearing off pieces of His flesh to feed tot he Jewish men on the Passover.

I pity you, but you have made your choice to worship using blasphemy. I do hope you are able to get on your knees after He Takes His in the Great Departure, so you spirit does not end up in Hell for eternity. You have no Truth in you. He won't honor your blasphemy.

They Essenes were devout, so they would not pretend to eat real flesh and blood, you Catholic heretic! And they observed the bread and wine as an attachment to the Melchizedek Priesthood. Without your inner demon’s deception you would be silent.
