Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Our Father In Heaven,
Holy and Blessed is Your Wonderful Name!
We Come before You With Praise and Thanksgiving,
and Offer the Sacrifice of Worship and Adoration.
For You Alone Are Worthy,
You Alone Are LORD,
You Alone Are the Most High!
Ancient of Days,
LORD of Hosts,
LORD, Our Provider,

Our Banner,
Our Healer,
Our Source,
Our Righteousness,
King of the Universe,

Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.

Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.

This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.

God Bless America.

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

1 Corinthians 1:

1 Paul, called to be an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, and our brother Sosthenes, 2 To the church of God in Corinth, to those sanctified in Christ Jesus and called to be his holy people, together with all those everywhere who call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ—their Lord and ours:

3 Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Thanksgiving

4 I always thank my God for you because of his grace given you in Christ Jesus. 5 For in him you have been enriched in every way—with all kinds of speech and with all knowledge— 6 God thus confirming our testimony about Christ among you. 7 Therefore you do not lack any spiritual gift as you eagerly wait for our Lord Jesus Christ to be revealed. 8 He will also keep you firm to the end, so that you will be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 God is faithful, who has called you into fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

Paul opens his letter with a Salutation that is also a Prayer. As we move further along, we will see that this is a big part of his writing style. His most typical Salutation is:

Grace and peace to you!

This is a variation of the hebrew greeting Shalom, which means "Hello", "Goodbye", and, of course, "Peace Be Unto You." It is a beautiful greeting, and survives all over the world in various forms, like "Salaam" (Arabic), and "Aloha" (Hawaiian). The Russian word "Mir" means "Peace", but it can also mean the whole world, the village, the community, and even a Space Station. "Peace" is a very Powerful thing! Everybody wants it, but nobody knows how to achieve it. Coerced "Peace" is not peace at all, but just another form of oppression. One could note that there is very ittle street crime in Singapore, for example, but when the penalty for littering could be 40 canings, the "peace" isn't real. That's why Paul says GRACE and Peace. And he nearly always adds :"In the Name of Our Lord" in one way or another. That is the only TRUE Peace, combined with the Lord's Amazing Grace.

Paul follows his Salutation with a Prayer of Thanksgiving. We shall also see that Paul sometimes closes his letters with a prayer as well. The closing prayer is usually a declaration of God's Glory, which is called a "Doxology".

We will be moving swiftly through the Epistles, picking out the prayers as we go along. Some of them will be similar, and others unique. we will see that Paul was not just a Preacher and Evangelist, but also a Man of Prayer.

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

"He was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification." (Romans 4:25)

God Bless America.

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

Hallelujah and Amen
