Maranatha!
The bible says no such thing. And in fact it's heresy to presume that EVERYONE already has some type of eternal life or immortality already. The verse the author uses proves that WHEN Christ returns Christians will have eternal life. But NOBODY has eternal life right now except for Christ.
1Ti 6:16 who alone has immortality, dwelling in unapproachable light, whom no man has seen or can see, to whom be honor and everlasting power. Amen.
So ONLY Christ is immortal right now.
Rom_6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
So again the gift of God, at the return of Christ, is eternal life. The most quoted verse in the bible again shows that THE GIFT of God is eternal life. Joh 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
This eternal life does NOT exist UNTIL God gives it. Without Christ the alternative is to perish....which means to be fully destroyed.
Excellent!
Thanks for posting this.
On one hand we seem to be focused on how we look: tattoos, hair color, piercings, and expensive tennis shoes, yet on the other hand many have body styles with all the appearance of gluttony. Tack on the emphasis on entertainment and acceptance, if not celebration, of deviant behavior, and God can’t be pleased.
Afterlife bump
Will be 80 next year....already eat healthy...and exercise.
If there was only the physical body and operating system of mind, emotions, and will, how would the thief be anywhere else? Well, the greater variable reality is real and each of us has a spuirit connected to that greater variability.
If born again, there is Life in that spirit and we can be with and experience The Lord, wherever He Is.
That aspect of everyone, the spirit, is designed to exist eternally, BUT God has given us the responsibility to choose in what state that eternity will be experienced. Jesus paid our sin debt so those who just believe, like the theif believed, will be with God in that eternity. Those who choose to not believe, well their location is also expressed in The Bible. And it is the most unpleasant existence imaginable.
So, choose each this day to believe or not. That is free will
In this universe of impermanence
a moment can be an eternity
and eternity can end abruptly.
Why cling to ephemeral dreams
of reality.
Recognize the void as thine own intellect, blissful and shining.

I agree with the writer. Today’s generation are more concerned with their physical being which is temporal, than they are with their Spiritual being which is Eternal. This explains why many churches are nearly empty but gyms are flourishing. Its part of the falling away in these last days.
2 Timothy 4:4
King James Version
4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
As noted in the following excerpts:
The Hindus taught reincarnation, in that death was not the end, only an endless cycle of death and rebirth. The Muslims believe in paradise and their arbitrary 72 virgins. Roman Catholicism teaches salvation through purgatory. Atheists believe in annihilationism. The Bible, however, declares that upon our last breath, and our last heartbeat, we enter into the realm eternal.
But we know the outcome:
Seeing as how death has been sort of a permanent mainstay in human history, it would seem to lend credence to the second half of the passage. We live. We die. We are judged by God. For the unbeliever, there is no recycling, no raucous, beer-laden Valhalla, no virgin-filled paradise, and no self-flagellating purgatory. It’s one and done, and then eternal separation from their Creator. For the believer, we are judged at the Bema Judgment, and then we spend the rest of eternity with our Creator.
Joshua 24:15
King James Version
15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.
Amen!
Excellent! Thank-you for posting.
Consider that we,
Exist as a mere speck in the sea of humanity, and which
exists as a mere speck in an exceeding vast universe, and
exists as a mere speck in time and eternity. But that all we do - or do not do - affects others to varying degrees, for time and even eternity, and in which man's effects, by himself, have been overall negative.
Yet God thinks upon His, and spared not His own Divine Son from taking responsibility for our sins and paying the price for our forgiveness with His own sinless shed blood, and as the resurrected and glorified Lord of the universe, gives His Spirit to believers, who shall forever be with the Lord. Glory to the great God and savior for so great salvation for so great sinners, at so great a price.
But the Book has Jesus stating:
