Heartbreaking
Many have described them--Arnold Toynbee, William Faulkner; the list goes on and on.
Some people can learn from history. Some cannot.
Harvard appears to be on the downswing.
In fact, half of the US population appears to be.
Can a nation survive once decadence has afflicted it? Can the decay be reversed, or can the downswing be hurried through and the nation returned to ascendency--to sattva--or even brought to enlightenment? Nobody knows.
But Donald Trump believes that it can. So convinced was he that he risked everything--a considerable amount in his case--to save his beloved America from those lost tamasic souls determined to destroy her.
Will he succeed? Will America be restored to ascendency--even brought to enlightenment? That remains to be seen.
If President Trump has his way, she will.
An atheist chaplain... Hmmm, that’s on par with a vegan who eats meat.
Harvard does have an Orthodox Christian Chaplain, Father Vassilios Bebis:
https://chaplains.harvard.edu/people/vassilios-bebis
Fr. Vassilios is the Priest at the nearby St. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church.
According to several articles, the atheist/”humanist” Epstein was unanimously selected as the chief chaplain by his fellow chaplains. If so, that would include Fr. Vassilios!
According to the teachings of the Orthodox Church, a Priest will be asked to give accounting for his parishioners at the Day of Judgment! Therefore, I hope that Fr. Vassilios did NOT vote for this atheist, no matter how “nice” he is, and no matter how much he “fits in” with the ethos of the Millennials! Orthodox Truth is Orthodox Truth!!!!
....But in the 19th century, compromises were made towards Unitarianism, which stands in contrast to the Trinitarian beliefs which created Harvard....
Right! However, in the 20th century, Harvard’s President Pusey, an Anglican, brought the Harvard Divinity School back to Trinitarianism, and appointed Trinitarian Christian professors to that school. Things have GREATLY slipped since then, however!!!!
