Polish Catholics get it.
Worst papal document until the next one Francis issues.
I’m waiting for the revolution and inevitable split.
Liberius has a few bad days. I am not quite sure that this is completely clear cut.
Huh? Liberius wasn’t heroic, but he did end up being jailed by Constantine for his refusal to support the Arians, and supposedly the condemnation of Athanasius was not by his hand.
I think he may have done wrong, but it was obviously out of fear and under pressure. It wasn’t the cold and calculated act of a dictator, like that of the venomous creature that is now occupying the Throne of St. Peter.
Thanks ebb tide.
You’re quite welcome.
Great piece. Dr. K nails it here: “I had always thought Jesuits were supposed to be clever, but this one seems not to know basic rules of human psychology: (1) the underdog always wins the sympathy of the many; (2) harsh tactics directed against minorities will draw lots of attention to their cause; (3) forbidden goods become more desirable; (4) if you try to take away something that people love as dearly as life itself, you will only succeed in intensifying their love of it and increasing their distance from or violence against those who would take it away.”
With that said, I can’t help but think that Bergoglio and his gang *do* understand all that, but, perhaps not willing to risk the man dying before they could do anything, they were desperate enough to plow ahead. They’re like Hitler invading the Soviet Union knowing that something like the Battle of Stalingrad is likely but thinking they’ll ultimately win.
Keep up the good work. Love your posts.
Isn’t Traditionis Custodes covered under the infallibility doctrine?
Nope. It concerns neither faith nor morals and was not pronounced ex cathedra.
It’s an unjust law from a dictator pope. And St. Augustine states an unjust law is no law at all.
That is amazing.
Currently, there is only one TLM offered in the Diocese of San Angelo.
No.
Here’s a survey they should pass out in their Novus Ordo churches:
1. Do you believe in the transubstantiation of bread and wine into the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ occurs in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass?
2. Do you believe that extramarital sex, both homo and hetero, is a mortal sin?
3. Do you believe abortion is murder and a mortal sin?
4. Do you believe artificial contraception is a mortal sin?
5. Do you approve of homosexual marriages/unions?
6. Do you believe one who is in a state of mortal sin should present oneself for Holy Communion?
7. When was the last time you went to Confession?
Final question for double the points:
8. Are you a democrat?
