Right now, the J-Thread is the (Old) NIV, but, originally on the Thread I used the New American Standard Version, which was the first Bible given to me when I was Born Again. However, when I got to Psalms and Proverbs, I switched to the King James because I like the poetry of the translation.
I’m careful about more modern translations (including the newer NIV) because of the “politically correct” language.
If the One True God chooses to reveal Himself to His Created beings as “Father”, who am I to argue?
My goal in life is to change and grow to conform to God’s Word, not change God’s Word to conform to ME.

My paper Bible is the ‘84 NIV, but that version has all but disappeared online. Someone sent me a link the other day; although it is usable, it’s a bit awkward to use. May I ask your source, please?
