Pope Francis: Pandemic Proves ‘Magic Theories’ of Capitalism Have Failed, World Needs Political Reform
BizPacReview ^ | 10/4/20 | John Dougherty

Pope Francis criticized what he called the “magic theories” of market capitalism and claimed that the COVID-19 pandemic made it apparent that a new global political paradigm was indicated moving forward.

On Sunday, the pontiff enunciated his vision for a post-novel coronavirus world by combining the foundational provisions of his social instruction into a new encyclical aimed at pushing a new global unity.

The encyclical, “Fratelli Tutti,” or “Brothers All,” was released by the Vatican on the feast day of his patron peace-loving saint, Francis of Assisi.

The pope’s writings draw mostly upon St. Francis’ teachings as well as the pontiff’s own homilies that highlight sometimes gaping discrepancies in the global economy and its alleged negative effect on the planet, pairing them with his plea for more unity to combat the “dark clouds over a closed world.”

Francis even rejected the Catholic Church’s doctrine of justifying war as a means of self-defense, claiming that it had been too widely applied for centuries and, thus, was no longer applicable.

“It is very difficult nowadays to invoke the rational criteria elaborated in earlier centuries to speak of the possibility of a ‘just war,’” he wrote.

Lifelong Roman Catholic. I am out. Socialism has caused misery. Capitalism has relieved misery.

Bone me.

In a spiritual sense, yes; in a political sense, no; in a Marxist sense, no.

Pope Francis is a function of the now corrupt College of Cardinals. He is a Socialist at best but I think really a full Marxist. Just look at his history in Argentina. It is plain to see. The real problem is not The Pope. The problem is The College of Cardinals that selected this Pope.

The Pope is the head of my “past” church. That church is dead now least it divest it self of its present Cardinals which select our Pope. Oddly I attend a Baptist Church Today. I would most like to go back to my original Church of Rome but it no longer exists.

Spoken like a true globalist.

Spoken like a man practicing for the position of the Tribulation's false prophet.

The leader of a religion is denigrating something as a “magic theory”? That’s ironic.

He’s as predictable as clockwork like every other leftist.

For any leftist to mount a critique based on an excess of theory is pretty rich. Leftists love them some theory.

Capitalism simply works. It thrives naturally without any need for theory. It’s what people naturally do when their property rights are respected and there’s no government boot in their face.

Meanwhile the left’s theories never survive contact with actual reality. This pope seems exquisitely unaware of how the left and its theories have damaged the world.

In 1857, a vile man named George Fitzhugh wrote a justification of slavery, as a form of proto-socialism. It was titled: “Cannibals All! Or Slaves Without Masters”.

He proclaimed a common refrain found in socialism, that 9 out of every 10 people are inferior, and need to be ruled by the other 1 of 10, the elites.

Again, in socialism, this 90%-10% rule always assumes that socialists are inherently of the (self proclaimed) elites, and has varying degrees of contempt for everyone else, from sneering disdain to the acceptance of genocide.

Literally in the extreme, there are socialists who dream of a disaster that wipes out 90% of humanity, solely to justify their delusion of supremacy.

In truth, their mask of superiority is just to conceal their gut wrenching feelings of inferiority and victimization.

They are inherently atheistic, having set themselves up as the replacements of God. And by rejecting God, by default, the seven deadly sins become their sacraments and goals.

All the sayings of this most eloquent man, The Pope, should be viewed from only one analysis. He is a Marxist and Marxists lie in abandon.

The real question is why the Cardinals of Popes elected him to be The Pope. The problem is not our Marxist Pope. The problem is how the Cardinals are elected.

My Church is dead. I hope I am mistaken. I doubt that I am.

Same here. I stopped giving money to the Catholic church because a portion of what I give goes to the Vatican. The USA gives an enormous about of funds to the Vatican and yet the “Pope” states that this country was founded on racism and gave us a prayer to absolve us of our inborn racism.
