A Call to Repentance - 

Joel 2:12-13

¹² “Now, therefore,” says the Lord, “Turn to Me with all your heart,
With fasting, with weeping, and with mourning.” ¹³ So rend your heart and not your garments; Return to the Lord your God, For He is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness; And He relents from doing harm.

2 Timothy 2:22-26

22 So flee youthful passions and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart. 23 Have nothing to do with foolish, ignorant controversies; you know that they breed quarrels. 24 And the Lord's servant[a] must not be quarrelsome but kind to everyone, able to teach, patiently enduring evil, 25 correcting his opponents with gentleness. God may perhaps grant them repentance leading to a knowledge of the truth, 26 and they may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil, after being captured by him to do his will.

Father God, we come together today and ask that You hear us crying out to You. We humble ourselves before You and pray Your word of repentance over our nation. Cleanse our hearts, we pray. We stand against the evil forces both foreign and domestic that are causing great confusion and chaos within our borders. Lord, there are many evil forces fanning the flames of division. They are desperately trying to divide us. Help us, Lord, to stay united and focused on You and Your will for us. Let us not be cold-hearted or stiff-necked but let us also not fall into temptation. We stand against pride and greed and evil in every form. Help us, Lord, to test every spirit with Your word.

Thank You for giving us a warrior President. Please continue to guide and direct his path. We pray for his protection and we pray that he draws closer to You every day and in every way. We also pray for the protection of those in his family, his cabinet, and all those in a leadership role who are seeking to do Your will. Give them supernatural discernment and wisdom.

Father, open the eyes of the people in this nation to the knowledge that ALL lives matter. Even the lives of the unborn, the sick, and the elderly. We ask for a softening of hearts and an opening of eyes of those who seek to take the life of another. We earnestly pray for their salvation.

We love you, Lord, and worship Your holy name. Help us to keep the oil in our lamps and to be ever watchful for the master’s return. We pray in the precious name of Jesus. Amen!

Oh and for Christian servant-leaders to take hold of the top positions in our law enforcement and armed forces. That honor be restored in every area of civil society! In Jesus’ name!

What an encouraging thought for these days, Lord God! Joining dear John4:11 in prayer for the nation and the souls of the lost. May the words of our motto repeat endlessly in their minds until they seek out the joy and power of its meaning: In God We Trust.

LORD: There are reports that the President will address the Nation on the subject of racial strife and the chaos that has emerged in the aftermath of George Floyd’s killing. We know that horrific event was a catalyst that exposed many fractures in the foundation of America that truly need to be addressed by people of good will. We also know that many have taken advantage of the outrage to further agendas that are harmful to peace and unity. Already, many are sharpening their rhetorical knives and dismissing the President’s address before it is given. LORD, you alone can provide and anoint the President’s words so that they will serve as a healing salve to those truly seeking positive solutions.

LORD: Again, I pray, please give the President anointed words of healing and unity that will resonate and bring peace and hope to all who are hurting and confused. Not just for the sake of the election, but because the Nation needs such an address. Please give the President wisdom and sincerity to touch hearts across this land. Bless his manner of delivery and enable him to convey empathy and sincerity. Remove any obstacles and filters that would prevent this message of healing to be received. Speak your words through the President in such a way that no weapon formed against them will prosper and even his enemies will have to agree with what is spoken. Use the President’s address to quell over inflamed passions and enable true progress to be made that will strengthen America, to Your Glory.

Abba Father, we see forces of darkness raging through our land, working their evil will through sons of disobedience and the simple who run after them. Throughout our land is the constant din and dust of destruction, increasing chaos, lawlessness, and relentless vicious assaults upon President Trump, VP Pence, and all who support them perpetrated by forces of darkness working through sons of disobedience and their followers. We Your children cry out to You O Lord! Please have mercy upon President Trump and his supporters. Protect them from the relentless assaults of the forces of darkness and sons of disobedience and their followers who carry out the evil will of powers, principalities, and Satan. In our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ's Name. Amen
