54He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day. 55For My flesh is true food, and My blood is true drink. 56He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him. 57As the living Father sent Me, and I live because of the Father, so he who eats Me, he also will live because of Me. 58This is the bread which came down out of heaven; not as the fathers ate and died; he who eats this bread will live forever. And yet; Jesus did NOT offer the disciples any little bits and pieces of flesh and flakes of blood that still were on His body when He appeared in their midst.
Don't worry; there's more where this came from.

And they ignore completely this verse in John 6 where Jesus explains to his disciples what he's talking about.
John 6:63 It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh is no help at all. The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life.
