As you know, it's not only NOT a sin, but a promise from God!

Of course, you are right. 😁😆 Hey, now it’s almost 1:30 AM. Later bro.

You are actually more ignorant than I expected. Read the Bible. Read Luke’ s Gospel then the acts of the Apostles. You will discover your stupid errors, like telling us Paul never met Jesus. HINT: road to Damascus event and Paul’s testimony of being taught by Jesus and the Apostles.

Luke says in the first chapter he is compiling testimony of others from memory. Timothy was Paul’s companion, Paul wasn’t a follower till after Jesus death. James and Jude were relatives, but not believers till after his death. Probably more I’m going from memory. Look it up it isn’t difficult

As compassion, I didn’t ask you which parts of the New Testament Timothy wrote.

Right. I was just thinking in my mind ones that we knew never met him, notably Timothy and Barnabas popped in my head. The point is more than one never witnessed his teaching

The LORD Christ said “I AM the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No man or woman comes to the Father except by Me.” John 14:6

...if anybody does sin, we have an advocate with the Father—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. 1 John 2:1

Protestants and EO—if the EO wiki is to be believed—both believe that salvation is a free gift that works are the faithful response to.

As do the Catholics.

And the Eastern Orthodox believe:

Which sounds nothing like the Protestant theology of salvation.

The irony being that you’re eager to wave around strawmen of what non Roman Christians believe with NO sources cited, and then complain like that.

The irony is you've posted absolutely no sources. I'll be happy to post sources for what the Catholic Church believes; what do you want?

I’ve read your Catechism and Catholic theology. The people I’m pinging were raised Catholic and know what they were taught by your Catholic priests and teachers.

Good for you, but reading it and understanding it are different things. Most of the former Catholics posting on FR have demonstrated that they don't know much about Catholic doctrine. But I can't help it if you want to use the ill-informed as your experts on Catholicism.

Don’t whine at me that I don’t couch Rome’s accursed perversion of the Gospel in soothing terms.

Don't take refutation of your distorted views as whining.

You exhibit a penchant for believing fables

I believe it was you trying to sell us on UFOs.

Fatime as a xisit (s) from the Mother of Jesus is a fabulous Catholic LIE.

Sounds like you're better off sticking with the UFO conspiracies. Are you into the secret Bible codes, too?

A large portion of the nt was written by people who never met Jesus that is my point.

Your logic is flawed. A large portion of the Old Testament is written by many who never met God. In fact, apart from Moses and Elijah who saw God's back, no one ever saw God. That doesn't mean they didn't write down what was told to them under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit nor would any true believer consider what they wrote unreliable.

I'm not sure how you arrived at what is "reliable" protestant standards or "oral tradition". 2/3 of the NT was written by Paul and Luke. Paul penned letters to the various church on various topics who, btw, did see Jesus at various times. Luke wrote historical documents (The Gospel According to Luke and Acts) based upon eye witness accounts of the events and certainly able to be verified and confirmed by those around him. In fact, Luke wrote more of the New Testament than any other author if memory serves me correctly. These are not "oral tradition". John, James, Peter, and the rest were penned for various reasons. All were written and are considered inspired just as the Old Testament is inspired.

A large portion of the nt was written by people who never met Jesus that is my point. At least Luke and Paul were never present for any of his teaching. Therefore most of it was oral tradition which is unreliable by protestant standards.

Really??? Paul wrote the church epistles...Where'd he get that information???

There re photos of the disc. You deny that because you must, in order to swallow the great lies regarding the events at Fatima. You are feasting on fables while your soul dies. Don’t take the mark which will be commanded to you ... soon.

These French War of Religion themed hreads are like South bashing threads here

Both sides at times rather testy and ad hominem

Catholic chauvinism on display frequently ....it happened to me yet again two days ago here courtesy EbbTide in spite of the fact I was being approving of Catholic history against Islam etc

Usual freeper nastiness

And yes non Catholics who often seem to be ex Catholics attack Rome

I simply know any Baptists or Presbyterians or Pentecostals or methodists where I live who hate Catholics

Nor did I grow up with Catholics in my own extended family and friends who loathed my Southern Baptist denominational Faith

We do find the Mary thing and Pope tradition odd admittedly

But personally if an individual prefers Catholicism so what and same for other Christian sects

Here it’s like a war and you’re a brigadier at a minimum Daniel...

Is this a northern thing?

Actually, I'm feasting on a nice smoked NY strip steak right now. Enjoy your UFO conspiracies, and I hope you're successful in solving all your secret Bible codes.

And in fact you ARE doing satan’s work when you create confusion in the midst of folks sharing the Gospel ogf Grace. Your ignorance is profound, but you can fix that by reading the Bible with an attitude that God is the author by writing through men. Jesus told His Disciples that HE would send the Holy Spirit to aid them in remembering ALL that He taught. When Jesus spoke to the crowds, was that Traditions in action, was Jesus spreading ‘traditions’? Jesus is God With Us, so when He taught crowds or His closest disciples or the authors of the various letters of the New Testament, GOD is the author. Accept that and read His Word to be fed Truth directly from The Source.

Nice try but typical Catholic deceit. I have not brought up UFO conspiracies, you did that and have tried to make that specious move stick to me.

I pointed to the actual photographs taken at Fatima that big day. Those photos show a disc. The eyewitness accounts suppressed by the Catholic Org tell of things which disprove the fables. You could actually look these things up but you prefer the lies. Your pallet is tuned to fables from your Org.

You want to believe fables and starve your soul to spiritual death? God will let you continue ...
