When there’s beer, let me know.
A large portion of the nt was written by people who never met Jesus that is my point. At least Luke and Paul were never present for any of his teaching. Therefore most of it was oral tradition which is unreliable by protestant standards.
He doesn't list them, but it doesn't matter. The point is he is saying their teachings are by word of mouth or by letter
Well, yes it does matter as Roman Catholicism has taken great liberties with this verse.
>>Hint...context is your friend in trying to answer this question.<<
Your context? No thanks.
Didn't think you'd be able to answer....to date no Roman Catholic has.
The Holy Spirit inspired it.
Thats where he got it.
Catholics just love to justify their oral tradition so much that they will take any verbal utterances and declare its *tradition*.
Which is ridiculous because something does not become tradition simply because someone spoke it.
Also, you do not know the Scripture you claim your church gave us very well. Paul did lay eyes on Jesus and it blinded him.
Catholicism does not own the Bible although no doubt they would love to so they can better control it and those who want to read it.
So what is missing out of Scripture that we need for salvation or growth in our Christian walk that Catholicism feels the need to add to it? Why do t you all consider it deficient and then try to convince us that whatever you add to it is necessary?
And why should we trust you all now? If Catholicism didnt get it right with the Bible that it needs adding to, why should we trust you now? What reason is there to think that you all got it right or did any better the next two thousand years around?
Is whats in the Bible not enough for yall that you feel the need to add to it?
Did God not do a good enough job that He now needs your help?
Which liberties are those?
By the way, how is it you spell eagle?
Well I guess the thinking would be that if you dont know what Scripture says, then theres no danger of being accountable to obey it.
What traditions are those that were not written down?
How do you know they are from the apostles?
How do you know they were passed down faithfully and without corruption?
Please provide links to verify your claims.
Oh boo hoo, I didn’t think it worthwhile to reply to self contradictory nonsense.
Your first link said directly that we’re not saved by our works, and now all you’re proving is that you’re unreliable when citing sources.
When you provide an actual statement of theology from EO and not some random opinion site, I might listen. Until then you’re full of excrement.
It is a fact that Paul says "we" (not just Paul) taught traditions both by word or by letter. You answer. What traditions are those Paul says he taught them?
Well be praying for you Laz!
Sounds like you need it.
Catholics are the ones claiming to know the traditions.
That’s YOU wuestion to answer.
sigh....
question
So you don't have an answer either?
One simple question. Why do you believe scripture is inspired and that God let the same people pervert oral tradition? Wouldn’t it make sense to protect both? In reality he had to since most of the writers weren’t there and there was no bible, he had to protect oral tradition
And in the meantime, my sources say that EO believes that salvation is a free gift from God. Which Protestants believe as well. Only difference is that we come at the same truth from different angles: the truth being that saving faith results in a change of life that transforms the sinner into a Christ-like person.
It’s only Roman Catholics that say that you have to ‘merit graces’ like eternal life through works.
spelled that way for a reason.
