Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Our Father Who Art in Heaven
Sometimes we feel so lost!
Nothing Makes Sense.
Good things happen for the wicked,
and bad things happen to decent people.
The People we have chosen to lead us prove to be perfidious,
They Call Good "evil", and evil "good".
Our Entertainments and "News" Media, feed us lies and coarsen our culture,
Making things acceptable, that to our parents would have been intolerable.
We See Your Name, Your People, and Your Word insulted daily.
How do we find our way through this morass?
Father, You Are Our Guide.
Your speak to us, and your lead us through.
Thank You, Lord.

May the Leaders of Our Own Beloved USA
Receive Wisdom from You
to do the Right Thing.

We Pray For The Swift and Sure Coming of Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Establish His Kingdom,
and Make All Things Right.

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

This just happened yesterday, so it is very fresh in my mind...and a delightful coincidence for Today's Name.

Yesterday, I had some time to kill before teaching a lesson, so I wandered into an Antique Store. Evidently the building used to be a funeral parlor, and the proprietress of the store made that a part of the "cachet" of the decor. We got into a conversation and she opened up to me. It seems that a competitor was trying to steal customers away from her by telling people that she was a "witch". As I looked around the store at the crystals, candles, incense, and dreamcatchers, I softly said, "Well, ARE YOU?". "Heck no!" she replied. "We only summon POSITIVE Energy and NICE Spirit Guides here! And SHE'S the REAL Witch! She even sells Black Candles for Wiccan Ceremonies!"

Well, here was a dilemma. Do I bash her over the head with a Ten-ton King James? Do I ACCUSE? Do I get into a deep Philosophical Discussion that will get her "saved" in the space of the five minutes?

"I LOVE my Spiritual Guide." I said. "He Created the Universe. I can find all the spiritual guidance I need right in the book. I have no problem with folklore, culture, and fairytales, but that's all they are. It's unfortunate that your competitor has made a false religion out of folklore, and then turns around and accuses YOU of the very same thing."

This was a satisfactory answer for her, and left the door open for more visits and "spiritual" talk. Please say a little prayer that God will give me the words! :-)
