I am not sure where the Rabbis got that nonsense, but that is what it was. You have the Book of Jasher, so turn to Chapter 23. There is also some setup at the end of Chapter 22.

Sarah is in Hebron because Satan had told her that Abraham had sacrificed Isaac and she had gone to look for them. When she gets to Hebron, Satan comes and tells her that he lied and Isaac is not dead. Then her joy was so exceedingly violent on account of her son, that her soul went out through joy; she died and was gathered to her people.

Abraham and Isaac get home, and are told Sarah went to Hebron looking for them.

And now, you know the rest of the story. ;-)]]

Ok look at it this way .
We know that the Scriptures are inspired by the Holy Spirit.
Ask yourself why did the Holy Spirit deem it unimportant to give us the details of why and how Sarah died ?

We know that Sarah knows God , we know she is saved just like Abraham is.
We know that everyone that is born will one day die yet the Holy Spirit does include the details of Sarah’s death in the Scriptures .

Why does not the Holy Spirit include this in the Scriptures ? Because it’s trivial and I don’t mean it in a bad way to lesson Sarah’s death . It’s a trivial detail because the Holy Spirit is pointing us to what Abraham is doing as typology of the Messiah .

The import detail in the whole story is that God “himself” will provide the lamb . You have Abraham (the father ) sacrificing Issac (his son)in the very place that God himself (the Father) will sacrifice his only begotten Son thousands of years later .God himself provides the lamb.
That is the import detail in the entire story , the typology of their Messiah that will die for their sins. All other knowledge about this event is trivial and that is why the Holy Spirit didn’t include it .

The bible is a Hebrew book and the Hebrew view prophesy as a pattern not like gentile mind thinks that prophecy is said done and finished . Typology is very important because all the typologies point to Messiah . Too many trivial details and you don’t dig in the Scripture and you miss what the Holy Spirit is trying to teach you .

Actually, I already did that, and I told you part of it. The Scriptures needed to testify to the Messiah, and convey the Law of Moses. These details would have muddled things up, as you said, and that is the point. However, the test of some extra-Scriptural text is whether it matches the Scriptures (Acts 17:11), the actual Scripture and not someone’s interpretation of the Scriptures.

The Tanakh is also a holographic picture of the key events in the Gospel. So a lot of information had to be embedded in letters of the scriptures. If you have ever tried to embed a secret message in a plain text you know how hard this is to do. The main points of the 2016 Presidential Election are embedded using equal letter skips in the Book of Deuteronomy.

The ELS codes are only one of the ways things are encoded in the Tanakh. There are gematria values for words that that tie concepts together, and tie verses to people and dates. There were certain letters that were copied as bigger or smaller than the rest of the letters. One such pattern in the Book of Esther gives the year that ten Nazis (sons of Haman) would be hanged for the second Holocaust.

I have also noticed that you, like a lot of others, try to limit what the Holy Spirit of YHWH can do. That is not the way it works. He is the potter; we are the clay.

The “wise men” at CERN have just discovered, experimentally, that the Universe can’t possibly exist without an outside controlling factor. All the “Laws of Nature” ever discovered are differential laws. They need boundary conditions. The Word of YHWH provides those boundary conditions.

All of His creations can do what ever they want, as long as He permits it. When you run up against one of YHWH’s boundary conditions, you will follow it. So when the folks who assigned the Chapter and Verse numbers did their work, the Holy Spirit made sure that certain chapters of certain books had a Chapter 12 the told a story of the end times. The Holy Spirit made sure that certain verses had gematria values that linked to other verses and words and told a story of the end times.

As Peter writes, these are not cunningly devised fables (2Peter 1:16), but the more sure word of prophecy (2 Peter 1:19). This is reality. As Paul writes:

1CO13:08 Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.
1CO13:09 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.
1CO13:10 But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.
1CO13:11 When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
1CO13:12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known. 1CO13:13 And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.
