Montfort’s writing epitomize why Roman Catholics worship Mary.

Some of the more egregious examples of his worship of Mary that are in contradiction of the New Testament.

Montfort: 48. 3. We must never go to our Lord except through Mary, using her intercession and good standing with him. We must never be without her when praying to Jesus.

We can go straight to our Lord without benefit of Mary. There is no biblical requirement that we must go through Mary.

But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him. James 1:5 NASB

Montfort: 49. 4. We must perform all our actions for Mary, which means that as slaves of this noble Queen we will work only for her, promoting her interests and her high renown, and making this the first aim in all our acts, while the glory of God will always be our final end. In everything we must renounce self- love because more often than not, without our being aware of it, selfishness sets itself up as the end of all we work for. We should often repeat from the depths of our heart: "Dear Mother, it is to please you that I go here or there, that I do this or that, that I suffer this pain or this injury."

Again, another contradiction of the NT. We are to perform our work for Christ and Christ alone.

More than that, I count all things to be loss in view of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them but rubbish so that I may gain Christ, Philippians 3:8 NASB

Montfort: 50. Beware, chosen soul, of thinking that it is more perfect to direct your work and intention straight to Jesus or straight to God. Without Mary, your work and your intention will be of little value. But if you go to God through Mary, your work will become Mary's work, and consequently will be most noble and most worthy of God.

Roman Catholicism teaches that without Mary your work is of little value. Without Mary God will not hear you is what Montfort seems to be saying. The NT teaches otherwise. We can, and indeed, we are instructed to bring our concerns, prayer requests to Him. We know He hears and He answers. As John writes...this is the confidence we have before Him. No one else.

14This is the confidence which we have before Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. 15And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests which we have asked from Him. 1 John 5:14-15 NASB

6Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.Philippians 4:6-7 NASB

6Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you at the proper time, 7casting all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you. 1 Peter 5:6-7 NASB

Montfort's quotes from: http://www.ewtn.com/library/montfort/secret.htm

The NT is clear...our prayers are directed to God....not a created being.

Our efforts are for His kingdom.

Consider this...the Sovereign God of the Universe Who created all things cares about you and wants you to come before Him with your concerns. He WILL HEAR and ANSWER. He is faithful in all this.
