Also from the way back machine, girls have been going out of the house looking like Puritans and then going to the mall, school. etc. and changing into clothes that their parents would not have approved of. So it might just be a girl thing.

When my wife was a schoolgirl in England many decades ago, all the girls had a strict dresscode and had to wear a uniform with the skirts at a prescribed length and subject to inspection.

As soon as school was over or school authorities were out sight, the first thing many of the girls did was to roll up their skirts and unbutton the top button of their blouses. My wife laughed as she was telling me this story. The girls didn't necessarily want to look prim and proper. They wanted to attract boys.

That's why women are so nosy and controlling. They are supposed to use those skills to control their OWN children until the kids are 18 years old.
