You are wrong. Simon Magus is the person that simony is named after. I don’t think he would be buried in a Catholic Church anywhere.

Well, there was no Catholic Church on Vatican Hill at the time of Peter’s death. There was a cemetery there, and the basilica was built centuries later on top of it.

There was no Catholic Church when Simon or any of the Apostles were buried...He wasn't buried in a church...A Church apparently was built on top of him...
