Spencer and his brother were adopted from Russia when they were 3. His brother was dropped during birth by the attending doctor, who didn’t know there was a second baby and has a brain injury as well as autism. He is in a respite care home and will be coming home next week as soon as they can get his medications right.
Spencer has had headaches for a month and was attributed to a sinus infection. Last night, an MRI showed a very large tumor. He is heading to surgery now and it is not known how he will be when he wakes up. It is in the part of the brain that controls language and understanding, which the doctors have prepared her for. He may lose his ability to talk.
The father has been paying child support but not any court ordered medical bills - it is my understanding that he is required to pay for all extra medical bills. My friend is working 2 jobs to pay for all of these expenses. The amount accrued over the past 10 years is staggering. The father gives the court old addresses so it is hard to get him served. They are dealing with three to five different states and she has moved to Georgia so different laws apply. She can’t afford an attorney to find him and fight this.
Please pray for both of these 17 year olds and my friend, who has raised two fine young men.
May Spencer’s medical staff be given Wisdom and the Good Lord give healing and peace. Amen

Spencer is still in surgery. I have a picture of the two boys sitting in my lap when they first came to the US. I love them both with all of my heart. What a heartbreaking day for everyone.
Lord God, we pray for Spencer, for the surgery, for the successful removal of a large tumor and for full recovery and healing. We pray as well for the autistic brother and for the entire family. You are the Great Physician, Lord, and Your compassion is real. We pray that You touch Spencer’s life and make him well. We pray in the name of Jesus; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Amen.
