Your comment: ‘Born of water = physical birth, the first birth.”
Why would Jesus say that “physical birth =born of water, the first birth”? This doesn’t make logical sense. Everyone is physically born, yet Jesus was referring to Baptism which he submitted himself to John the Baptist.
5 Jesus answered, Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.
That means that everyone who has ever been baptized is saved, whether they want it or not, no matter how they live.
If baptism saves, then Christ died for nothing. All people would have to do is be baptized and voila, they are saved.
Anyone who adds to the work of Christ on the cross is stating by default that the work of Christ, which HE said was FINISHED, is not enough. That they have to add something to it.
