Most were Baptists or Methodists. I can remember walking with a friend to the Methodist church downtown.

Ya'll must have been from dawn south:)

I was born and grew up in a small town south of Tupelo, MS and attended Mssissippi State University. An ancestor was from Palantine which I think was in Germany. Another was from Alsace-Lorraine. The one from Palantine was a Lutheran. Not too many of those around that area either. I have ancestors from Ireland, Scotland, England, Russia, plus a few others. One of my great grandmothers was a Cherokee. She and her children were offered land in Indian Territory but turned it down. It is odd that none were Catholic from those countries. Oh, 2 families came over on the Mayflower so we have been here a long time. I think their names were Allerton and Brewster. Their kids married later.
