Another thought on this. You invite people to your home and ask them to bear witness to a celebration, lets say a birthday party. You have asked them to bring gifts and to sing Happy Birthday. All good.

But then when it comes time for the cake, you ask them to not have cake, because the cake is only for certain people. Not a good way to have a party. Feelings would be hurt possibly.
