My goal is the salvation of my soul. You want to light a candle for me at mass then go right ahead and thank you. It is your blindness I protest.

When I was a teenage girl growing up in one of the most strict Protestant churches there is outside the Amish I remember sitting in Sunday school class one Sunday morning being told why every Catholic was going to hell, that not a single one would be saved.

I was horrified. I thought it one of the most arrogant, blind stupid things a person could say. How the heck did he know for sure what God was going to do with Catholics when my "Bible" said to be saved you needed to believe in Jesus and be baptized. Even I knew that Catholics met that criteria even with all the extras that are not Biblical.

Here I sit horrified once again at the all knowing arrogance of a man. What makes you any different than that blind Sunday school teacher...oh that is right a different institution, your institution is the only one with a direct line from God and thus the only that can read and interpret the Bible so it makes the implication ok? Gee, he thought the same thing about his institution.

No to you both. I will serve the Lord with all my heart, point out what is Biblicaly not correct if needed and let people like you and that Sunday school teacher tell each other your are going to hell....gross.

That “institution” is the Holy Roman Catholic Church. Institued by Christ to lead his flock to all Truth through the power of the Holy Spirit.

For 2,000 years The Catholic Church has been preserved from error on orders from God and exists to this day to preach and teach those here now and the generations to come.

There is no bible for you to critique the Church without the Church. And because The Church is part of the Body of Christ it reflects Christ’s mercy for the salvation of the ignorant. Even when the protestant does not. One can be assured of the true Church by that alone. Who cares for those who through no fault of their own do not know Christ? The Catholic Church does.

God desires everyone to come to Him and to realize the fullness of Truth. The Truth is not to be found amongst the myriad of individual scriptural interpretation.

P.S. those “extras” you refer are the Body and Blood of Christ in the Eucharist. Not something I would dismiss lightly.
