This borders on major hypocrisy, Douglas.
You've been attacking other denominations for years on FR. Christmas or Easter can't get close without an attack thread on the beliefs of others.
My sense is that this thread isn't worthy of Free Republic. It's just your personal polemic and should be excised.
Want to act like an animal...go for it...but don't claim to be a Christian...it makes the rest of us look bad...
What are you doing here then?
Who is this condemning? I find FreeRepublic to have a great deal more civility than most other forums
You probably don’t want to associate the wolf with FR because it is associated with the Nazis and Hun culture to quite a degree.

I’d rather have those at FR be associated with the Irish Wolfhound!
Marking your territory for the new year, I see.
Just know that everything I do for you and to you is because I love you and am acting in your best interest.
And its instructive to see how other more articulate freepers of faith deal with typical anti-christian or anti religion arguments, etc.
Is this your opus? Heading to DU?
We’re not really ravenous ... just dieting.
I expect everyone to pile on so it’s okay....just do it. I was raised Pentecostal by a preacher grandfather and God fearing grandmother so spent many many hours in church every week. But so many churches/people condemning other people is the exact reason I don’t go to church! I just don’t, and I guess never will understand, why so many Christians must act holier than thou. They need lessons from Mother Theresa.
Just my opinion, take it or leave it and flame away.
Jesus additionally said that all would know they were his disciples if they showed love among themselves. (John 13:35)
This was not the love of neighbor but as Jesus called it, “a new commandment”, that his disciples love one another as he had loved them, being willing to lay down his life for them.
How many who call themselves disciples of Jesus would willing lay down their life for a spiritual brother or sister? Yet that was a requirement of being recognized as a Christian.
I hope you had a happy holiday.
Your post reminds me of my shortcomings in the eyes of God, my humbleness (or lack thereof) and how far I still have to go.
Over the last couple of years, I have resolved to make sure to read a post twice or three times before posting it, and not to attack someone personally if there can be found a way to put forth a criticism w/o making it personal.*
Thanks for your post.
*all bets are off for my criticisms of the Posting Police. They richly deserve any criticism they get from me and I am God’s instrument ;-).
Is this about Mormonism?
If so, don’t worry the truth shall set you free. And FR is about truth. It’s our mission. Wouldn’t have it any other way.
God bless.
nice post. i say, with joy, let them all come to FR and have one of the few great lights in the darkness on the internet shine on them, too. just as it continues to shine on the dark places in me.
James 3
8
But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.
9
Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God.
10
Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.>>>
James said no man can tame their tongue, that obviously includes Christians, and since it is even easier to put it in writing there is a lot of it.
Paul said some things that i do not think was proper about peter even though they were both Christian.
I guess i see it a little different, i see so many scribes and pharisees and so many who think of them selves as all knowing but i do not think of any one as animals.
And i do think these discussions are some what beneficial because we are more apt to tell it like we think it is rather than going along with something the Bible plainly said is wrong.
For instance Jesus tells us to pray to God in secret but you can hear many preachers praying for a quarter of a mile.
But would i go to a preacher and tell him that? No but i will say it here.
