My Poetry is Sacrificial Prayer (Vanity)

MY POETRY IS SACRIFICIAL PRAYER

Lord, true poetry to me is loving You, the art of a lifetime;

Expression of my affection is merely a prolonged longing and remembrance.

Burden of love burdens my heart.

I just want to live love fully expressed but remain unexpressed,

But Your Will be done, O Lord, Your Will be done, receive my poetic prayers in loving.

Lord, I shall do utmost to take Your words to capture souls

To bring them joy, peace, tranquility, faith, hope, and most, YOU.

It is my greatest desire is for You to them, greater than the desire to myself.

May my effort not turn futile but bear much fruit;

May it bring You much comfort pleasing;

May it relieve much Your burden of loving them, loving me.

Your tender Heart is set afire;

You have suffered much in the consuming flame.

Suffer a little longer O Lord while I fan this sacred flame to spread Your Love to the whole world.

Its conquest is not too great for the divine fire.

May I plead with You without any exaggerating but with tender imploring:

I want Your warmth of zeal for me to serve You and for souls to live what I am living.

Take me, with all my humble dwelling, with all defects.

I come to follow and I long to remain with You and with our beloved Father in the Upper Room

To be nourished, refreshed, instructed, fortified in carrying out His holy Will.

Use me Lord to reach this and that people, this and that nation.

This sacrifice in composing, in copying divine oracles is my daily offering;

May I assist You Lord in reaping great harvest.

To pray in poetry is sacrifice and holocaust for my soul;

I long to sing to You with random thoughts and best yet without words, just sobbing.

I treasure those moments of silence in Your arms for those sacred silence is laden with Love,

Worth more than many rosaries and poems recited unconscious.

Wait for me Lord, gesture Your love, give alms to this sinful beggar.

Do not pass me by but stoop down and dress my wounded heart and wounds on my soul.

I now give myself, my breath, my heart beating to the very last one, my last thought to be on You.

You have given me everything and I return everything with interests.

(This is written as a prayer, not a poem. Thanks and God Bless!)

Gfr, if you ever get an inspiration to put out a book or even have a poetry website, don’t resist. You seem to have a gift for describing how our souls yearn for intimacy with our Lord. Intimacy like the way the Beloved Disciple rested his head on the Lord’s Chest at the Last Supper.
