I absolutely refuse to watch one second of this show.

Via the same impulse that makes us look at gruesome wrecks on the highway, I watched the first episode of this thing last week, and I’ve never seen anything on TV quite so repulsive. Its total awfulness is kind of an achievement.

This is the network that gave you, Outsourced, a "comedy" about shipping jobs to India that outraged people all across the political spectrum and still managed to last a whole season. Do you really expect them to act any differently now?

There is so much homosexual propaganda on TV these days. But no matter how hard they try, it still won’t be normal.
HOMOSEXUAL, because there’s nothing GAY about it.

The Shore, as it is commonly referred to, follows the lives of alcoholic, spiritually-adrift twentysomethings I'm trying to think of something on network TV that isn't spiritually adrift.
There isn't much.

I thought it looked very unfunny in the promos.
I heard one of the guys interviewed and he pretty much said they intend it as indoctrination for us benighted straights who don't get the gay "family" thing.

Anti-Christian blasphemy. We should riot. How can the President allow this after his UN speech?

Thank God for old movies and old show reruns. I can't watch today's tv shows. It's not even the moral content (or lack thereof). These new shows aren't even remotely entertaining.

I caught the lions share of an episode; what a dud. The show is about as much fun as a lecture on paint drying. The grandmother is a flat, soulless, comedy-free copy of the family matriarch from Arrested Development. The other characters are so stereotypical they scarcely need individual names. The tone ranges from preachy to sanctimonious, punctuated with what I'll charitably call 'the occasional laugh.'
Maybe not laugh, exactly. It's more like that vague pre-laugh feeling you get sometimes when you realize someone's telling a joke and you inadvertently shift the muscles in your face and chest in laugh-preparation. Then you realize it was a false alarm and go back to sitting there bored.
Other than that, it was pretty lame.

Breathtaking to see the decline of our culture in the past 30-40 years or so.
Can anyone imagine the reaction to this show in say 1967?

I decided some time ago that the expression, “the new normal,” signifies nothing more than the old SINFUL.
“It is because of the hasty and superficial conversation with God that the sense of sin is so weak and that no motives have power to help you to hate and flee from sin as you should.” ....GK Chesterton
