Here is another incredible ministry showing that the love of Christ heals the broken.
Mercy Ministries free-of-charge, voluntary, faith-based residential program serves young women from all socio-economic backgrounds, ages 13-28, who face a combination of life-controlling issues such as eating disorders, self-harm, drug and alcohol addictions, depression and unplanned pregnancy. Mercy also serves young women who have been physically and sexually abused, including victims of sex trafficking. Using proven methods, a holistic approach and professional counselors in a structured residential environment, Mercy has helped thousands of young women be restored to wholeness. Mercys goal is to help these young women find freedom from their issues and empower them to serve in their communities as productive citizens.
I looked at their website and read their statement of faith, sounds like a worthy organization in a much needed area.
This sounds like a wonderful organization worthy of financial support. I’ll keep them in mind the next time I find myself with funds that can be directed towards charity. Thanks for the post!
Amen & Amen!
“Let everything that hath breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the Lord!” (Psalm 150:6)
This shows what can be accomplished through the Grace of Christ. In Him alone is the hope to escape the sins and weaknesses of the human heart that enslave us.
This is indeed a very worthy charity. I would love to read of their work being expanded to other cities as the need is great.
just saw your post about mercy ministries, and i must differ .. strongly. mercy ministries has a dark side and it would behoove each individual to do a thorough search about the dangers of this program. from recovered memory therapy to cult like practices fitting the BITE model to a ‘t’, to ripping families apart. how do i know this? it happened to us. our daughter ‘graduated’ from the program after 8 months of residential ‘treatment.’ she has excised us out of her life after accusing us of atrocities that never happened. she’s not the only one who has done this to their family, many many girls have. and eerily, the stories are similar and many exactly the same to the most minute detail. we don’t know if we’ll ever see our daughter again. shattered doesn’t come close to describing what we feel. it’s a nightmare. the fact that our precious daughter was so dramatically led and changed is heartbreaking.
we’re part of a growing number of parents who are literally going through hell on earth due to mercy ministries vile program.
we donated thousands to this program only to have our daughter ripped from our lives.
know ... that just because it looks promising, doesn’t mean that it is promising.
