Do you not know that Samuel anointed David? Chrismation is anointing with oil. Samuel anointed David as King over Israel. Anointed was done as a sign of consecration to God. People were anointed and so were types of food, the tabernacle, the altar, instruments of the tabernacle. In fact, everything that was anointed for the Lord belonged to the Lord for HIS purposes.
