Good scriptures metmom. There are extremes on both ends of the pentecostal - independent fundamental baptist (IFB) plane.
I was referring to the IFB because what I hear is law from the pulpit. Some scriptures are totally avoided, yet those too are the Word of God.

The Pentecostal movement is just as off balance as the Baptists I’ve heard them criticize.

People need to focus more on the fruit of the Spirit, which is the mark of a Spirit filled believer, than showy gifts which can be faked or mimicked by Satan.

Health, wealth, demonstrations of tongues, getting slain in the Spirit, or any other material, physical criteria one chooses, not drinking, not dancing, not chewing, not whatever, is not an indicator of one’s spiritual maturity.

Those things were never meant to be used as a scale by which to judge one another.

In case you can’t tell, I’ve had my fill of people telling me I’m not good enough because they don’t think they see God working in my life the way they think He should be.

(This is a general purpose rant, not directed at you personally)
