There should be no doubt that the next Gaza war won't resemble the 2008-2009 war, and it could start at any time.

If you follow events in Israel closely, you recognize the routine. First Hamas engages in indiscriminate attacks on innocent Israeli civilians. Next Israel responds. Then Hamas announces a unilateral ceasefire. Soon thereafter, the attacks resume, and Israel responds. Eventually, a full-scale war breaks out. It's as predictable as clockwork. That's how the Gaza War of 2008-2009 began, and that's how the next Gaza war will start -- only the next Gaza war will be markedly different.

Given its proximity to the Tel Aviv metropolitan area, Israel's most populous region, Gaza is the logical place for the war to begin. From southern Lebanon, Hezb'allah has promised to join the fight, probably with an attack on Haifa, Israel's third-largest metropolitan area. Syria, Egypt, and Jordan may join the fight as well, and Israel could end up fighting a war for survival on all sides, much like the Six Day War. But things have changed markedly since 1967. The U.S. is weaker in the Middle East than it has been in decades, and Islamist groups are stronger than they have ever been. There should be no doubt that the next Gaza war won't resemble the 2008-2009 war, and it could start at any time.

Most Germans living in Dresden were pro western and wanted nothing to do with Total War or Genocide.
It's unfortunate they would not or could not throw off their evil regime.
Israel is in an ongoing, existential war. They absolutely assure their own destruction if they fail to destroy their enemies.
Israel will likely have to go nuclear ...
figuratively if not literally.
As alluded to throughout this thread,
Israel will have to take “minimizing collateral
damage” off the table, just as if nuclear
weapons were used, thus accomplishing the
same “cleansing” but without the stigma
of being only the second country to resort
to use of nukes, and still maintaining the
deniability of even having them.
Save the nukes for de-infrastructuring Iran.
“Israelis should review how the U.S. helped them militarily in the past. Then assume that they will have to provide that same help themselves without the U.S. at least until Obama is out of the presidency.”
That’s the kicker - modern weapon systems have very, very long logistical “tails.” W/O US support, Isreal is up the creek.
Of course, they realize this, and have contingency plans to hold America’s feet to the fire. (See “Sampson Option”)
This message came to me concerning Damascus: Look, Damascus will disappear! It will become a heap of ruins.”—Isaiah 17:1
PM Harper will help. Don’t start flaming me about the Canadian military. Unfortunately too many years of liberal rule have cut our armed forces down to nothing. Plus the Canadian military is stretched helping to fight three wars-Libya, Afghanistan, and the Somali pirates.
Most of the Iranians are pro Western. They also feel the wrath and lash of their leaders. I would not nuke Tehran.
That doesn't matter to the Premillennial Dysfunctionalist. The nation of Israel is their Kaaba. They call anyone who dares to raise an eyebrow at Israel as "anti-semites" but if their "black stone" is threatened in the least they will demand that millions of Arabs (Semites) are slaughtered as simply a precaution. Their god's power and might is seen in howitzer shells and mushroom clouds indiscriminately killing people in their homes, places of worship and even butchering children in their schools.
These genocidal monsters will say "Jesus loves you" while they gleefully demand that WMD, too horrible to ever be used in war before, are used to carpet bomb entire civilizations into glowing rubble.
They claim that their Israel fetish comes from Scripture, but apparently they reject all of that "I will ____ my enemies so that the world will know that I am God" language that accompanies their prooftexts (and all of that this is supposed to happen mid-way in the Tribulation). Just look at the insane genocidal statements they make. Tehran has a population over eight million people, yet the guy you are posting to wants to indiscriminately nuke them ALL. As reference, Adolf Hitler is charged with systematically killing only six million Jews and he is considered to be the benchmark of evil.
These Dysfunctionalists claim to be Christians, but are spending their time fantasizing about slaughtering entire mission fields rather than evangelizing them or at least praying for peace and safety of the millions of Christians already struggling with people trying to kill them.
Then you have people who think that if Israel just goes full-out military on her neighbors, that the world will sit back and do nothing. While that poster claimed that Israel is hated already by everyone, apparently the economically devastating effect of "sanctions" never occurred to these arm-chair generals as being a virtual certainty which would cause Israel to cease to exist faster than scuds and mortars.
Gaza would have a better chance of winning if they waited 100 maybe 200 years. Demographics is their friend.
If you could go into a daycare center that had only Muslim children in it, would you kill all of them if you could get away with it unharmed?
This message came to me concerning Damascus: Look, Damascus will disappear! It will become a heap of ruins.Isaiah 17:1
Fulfilled
2 Kings 16:9 And the king of Assyria hearkened unto him: for the king of Assyria went up against Damascus, and took it, and carried the people of it captive to Kir, and slew Rezin.
“I would not nuke Tehran.”
I would nuke Damascus.
Like previous wars in the ME, Israel’s satellites, drones and HUMINT will already know what is coming before it even happens. There can be no massing of troops by the Muzzies so there is no way they will ever take over Israel.
The best they can do is send in missiles and rockets until Israel says “No Mas.” And without the use of WMD’s there will be damage to property and maybe a few casualties. Israel has shelters that can withstand more of the shelling.
The problem lies in whether the Muzzies declare a cease fire before Israel retaliates. The other problem is if Israel does not retaliate, while they build their cities back up the Muzzies can repeat the process.
They way Israel wins a war like this is by telling the UN to piss off and level Tripoli or Damascus while forcing the Palis in Gaza to flee to Egypt.
I agree with you that Harper is a good guy. But I’m not sure how much he can do, especially without any help from the American Navy or overseas bases in Europe.
How would Canada get there, if the EU and the US refuse to help? As I think they would.
Israel, on the other hand, was described by the late General Alexander Haig, who was a Supreme Commander of NATO and a US Secretary of State, as "the largest US aircraft carrier, which does not require even one US soldier, cannot be sunk, is the most cost-effective and battle-tested, located in a region which is critical to vital US interests. If there would not be an Israel, the US would have to deploy real aircraft carriers, along with tens of thousands of US soldiers, which would cost tens of billions of dollars annually, dragging the US unnecessarily into local, regional and global conflicts. All of which is spared by the Jewish State."
(snip)
General John Keegan, a former chief of US Air Force Intelligence determined that Israel's contribution to US intelligence was "equal to five CIAs."Senator Daniel Inouye, Chairman of the Senate Appropriations Committee and former Chairman of the Intelligence Committee said "The intelligence received from Israel exceeds the intelligence received from all NATO countries combined."
and Israel still does not give the U.S. ALL of the intelligence it gathers.
The Egyptians don't want 'em either. They know the Palis are just plain trouble.
I would seriously question that this prophecy was fulfilled since Damascus didn't disappear or become a heap of ruins. In fact, it is one of the oldest continually lived in cities in the world.
God could not be more clear that the prophecy involves the total destruction of Damascus, to the point where it will never be inhabited by human beings again.
This is something that is yet to be fulfiled, and could very well happen as part of the Psalm 83 war, which appears to be in the very near future.
US help has always taken the form of: rearming Israel with ammunition parts and equipment, keeping the other big powers (at the time essentially Russia) out of the fight, and providing political cover at the UN and other arenas. The prototypical example of this is Nixon's actions in 1973.
Canada does not have vast stores of armaments to supply, we rely on the same arms super market as Israel does, Uncle Sam. With limited airlift capacity Canada might be able to procure and deliver some key items, perhaps with covert US help. Canada would not be able to keep the big powers out of the fight. Canada would, however, help to provide political cover for an isolated ally.
PM Harper has been strong in his support of Israel. He recognizes Israel as a bright light of freedom and western civilization in a very hostile neighborhood. He does not like dictators, arab or otherwise. Remember, Canada denied landing rights to Ghadaffi last year when he was returning from New York. Ghadaffi did not like that but we don't need his stinking oil. We have our own stinking oil.
