Which is why I try to avoid these threads. I just wanted to compliment a person on a job well done. Don’t worry. I live my faith on a daily basis. I don’t let silliness like this get to me. My children are in the Church on a regular basis. I’m not worried about them AT ALL! I know all the things my husband had to go through to volunteer with the Scout program. It’s not the same as it used to be.
I have a personal way of looking at this. My mom was raised in the equivalent of Mayberry. Nothing bad ever happened and they were free to roam with no worries. So when my brother and I came along, she tried to raise us the same way. The problem is, the world around her changed and she wasn’t aware of all the bad things that were happening. Things happened to me that shouldn’t have. I didn’t tell my parents until I was an adult. They felt horrible but they couldn’t go back in time to change what happened. Instead, they are now helping me raise my children in a more safe environment. This is how I see the Church. I know it’s simplistic and I realize it is just my opinion but I love my Lord and the Church He left for me. It isn’t perfect but it will always be here. He gave me His word. My children will know, love and serve the Lord with the help of the beautiful Catholic Church and the many wonderful, holy men that serve us.
With that little story I will attempt to leave this thread. I don’t need the negativity that permeates this place.
And thus the non-defense of the faith by those who can only make the discussion personal.
