What DO people do with their brains when they buy into such UNBiblical silliness?
I get it. You're obviously puzzled and think there are two days of the Lord at the last day.
2 For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night.
3 For when they say, "Peace and safety!" then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape.
Explain again where the “peace and safety” fits into the utter destruction scenario of the futurist “great tribulation” with millions, even billions, perishing horribly in a brief seven year period.
Not only that:
4 But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief.That's an odd comment for Paul to make to the brethren who allegedly will not experience the “day of the Lord” in the futurist fantasy world.
And if we look closely at chapter 4, we will discover:
15 For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep.“[U]ntil the coming of the Lord” aka the Second Coming.
And in 1 Cor. 15 Paul gives us this crystal clear order of events:
23 But each one in his own order: Christ the firstfruits, afterward those who are Christ's at His coming .Get it? Those who are Christ's are raised at His Second Coming, then comes the end. Absolutely no place to insert your imaginary seven years of tribulation and “thousand years” between verses 23 and 24.
24 Then comes the end, when He delivers the kingdom to God the Father, when He puts an end to all rule and all authority and power.
25 For He must reign till He has put all enemies under His feet.
26 The last enemy that will be destroyed is death.
It's understandable that dispies are confused when they distort the Word of God to satisfy their own faulty theology. After you swallow this swill for a time it's much harder to get back to truth.

This time they are holding signs that say something about a rapture...dear, my chagrin is becoming amused again.. rapture...why the very notion just sets my blue blood boiling. Imagine. I can only hope for the day we will look out our window and these annoying people and their signs gone. For good. THEN we shall pray for His return. After all, WHO can return with such riff-raff jamming up the streets, and blocking His view of US??...

1 Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea.
4 But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us,The Bride is presently with Christ in heaven in this age, and in the age to come we will inhabit the new heavens and new earth, which comes at Christ's Second Coming, the day of the Lord:
5 even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),
6 and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, (Eph. 2)
10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up. (2 Peter 3)
