I find Orson Pratt’s witness to be “special”, why wasn’t this one included?

Orson Pratt - “We have also proved that both God the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ inherit their wives in eternity as well as in time.”

If this is correct: In our day the Lord has called 15 special witnesses to testify of His divinity before all the world.

Then what are all those 52K+ lds doing traveling the world? What are they witnessing to?

This great and ancient city of Jerusalem—it has always been an inspiration to me. It is so because this place bears the imprint of the Son of God. Two thousand years ago, the Savior of mankind was born in Bethlehem Jerusalem, a short distance to the south.

Alma 7:10
And behold, he shall be born of Mary, at Jerusalem which is the land of our forefathers, she being a virgin, a precious and chosen vessel, who shall be overshadowed and conceive by the power of the Holy Ghost, and bring forth a son, yea, even the Son of God.

What? Am I reading this correctly. Here Hinckley appears to be speaking by satellite from Jerusalem. He's talking about Jerusalem for the first five paragraphs of this speech.

He could, from a sheer Mormon perspective carry on the topic of Jerusalem into the sixth graph...but he doesn't.

He switches to Bethlehem. Why? 'Cause the Bible apparently trumps the Book of Mormon, which claimed that Jesus was born in Jerusalem.

Why doesn't Hinckley just pull out that BoM verse & quote it -- since he was already on the subject of Jerusalem & apparently speaking from there?

From the Elder Richard Scott portion: Only those who make and keep the covenant of baptism, diligently obey His commandments, and receive all of the other necessary ordinances will have a fulness of joy on earth and will live eternally in the celestial kingdom.

Non-Mormons, allow me to interpret this for you: Mormons believe that Heavenly Father resides in the "celestial kingdom" (the upper portion of heaven) and ONLY resides there.

So, of course, since Christians don't believe in these "other necessary ordinances" (ritualistic temple works & the like) that Mormon leadership imposes upon the world -- Mormons believe that Christians will only get to reside in the ghettos and slums of heaven.

Now why do I call them "slums?"

Because they assure us that we Christians will be living outside the eternal presence of Heavenly Father!

If he ain't there, it ain't heaven!

The utter nerve of Mormons to claim that heaven can be heaven minus the presence of the Father!
