You didn't the media ALWAYS downplays the crowds when someone is opposing things like abortion and homosexuality.
The media is, for the most part, correctly reporting the fact that smaller crowds came to see Ratzinger than Rome had originally estimated.
And you know this how exactly? Is it because you trust the media? Or do you get some sort of newsletter email from Ian Paisley?
And the crowds were thin, in no small part, because Anglicanism is still the dominant religion of Britain, and Ratzinger was elevating an ex-Anglican who swam the Tiber to a position of import within Rome.
