I find the Catholic doctrine of purgatory to be interestingly similar to the LDS concept of “spirit heaven”. Both are places that spirits go after death as a sort of holding pen. Mormons to get a second chance to hear and accept the gospel, Catholics in order to work off the penalty for sins that were forgiven but for which they failed to complete their temporal punishment.
Mormons can have their dead ancestors in spirit heaven baptised by proxy so that they can hear the gospel. Catholics can earn time off from their dead loved ones purgatory senrtences by performing certain actions and praying for them.
As kids we were told to pray for the poor souls in purgatory.

Since this is presuming the dead ancestors have not heard the mormon “gospiel” and all dead people get dead dunked, where is the authentic reason for charging those same people 10% of their earnings during their natural lifetime and 100 hours of slavery a momth to buy the same everafter life they can just be handed as a wet gift after they are gone...
It seems to me that mormons do not have any motivation to live a good life while they are here on Earth, but can live a secret one of porn etc because their unknowing descendants or some other enthusiastic mormon in need of brownie points will make sure they are dead dunked...
Since the same “talks” can be heard after death, why send out 52,000 mormon salesmen to say the same things that the dead will hear after they die...those boys would be better off in college or in the military...
And why make the mormons spend up to 8 hours on Sunday listening to the “talks” and “volunteering” if others get the same “reward” without all that waste of time...wouldnt the time be better spent WITH THEIR FAMILIES ???
When Hitler suddenly after death has the same entrance into the mormon god that his 6 Million Jew victims have, there is something horribly and paganly wrong with the religious process...

Dont they hear enough of it while they are alive ???
Or does the mormnon corporation have not confidence in their own sales pitch ???
How do they know it will work on the dead if the living didnt get it those umpteen times they heard it during their lifetimes ???
