I need a new pet peeve too.

I used to have a boyfriend who got "condone" and "condemn" mixed up - I never knew whether he was for something or against it!

My favorite, though, is flustrated.

Background. If you see at Post 2039 before all of this - I told the freeper to stop making it about me. I’m done.

Stop making this about me.

I’m done w/you MD.

But that wasn’t what the poster WANTED - and CONTINUED to make it about me.

...Well, I’m not done with you, not just yet. I am unlikely to be done with you as long as you

What this shows is - you move on complaints since nothing was done about it that post/poster - because I didn’t complain. I am now and not behind the scenes but upfront.

I didn't last that long but you are right - once I heard The Truth I knew it IMMEDIATELY and bye bye to my past life since birth.

And that was the HS doing His work in us - confirming The Truth when we hear it.

Hey, remember the tuna and egg sandwiches we brought to school on the first Friday of the month. Mass/communion and then off to the adjoining school for breakfast. Back then we had to fast before communion from midnight last night's meal until our sandwich time.
More man made doctrine. And then ONLY the priest could touch the communion wafer - some classmate, 8 yr old, got pulled by the neck because he put his fingers in his mouth - because the wafer got stuck to the roof of his mouth. Dry mouth from fasting.

Changes, changes - the RCC is all about change (and hope) :) Could be where Barry got his slogan?

But God's WORD NEVER CHANGES because it is built on THE ROCK, JESUS, The Cornerstone of HIS Church!

Oh yeah, that's awful, isn't it.

I have an otherwise intelligent friend who says....oh crud, I can't remember now, but there was a whole Seinfeld episode about it. I thought she was joking the first time she said it.

I've got to tell you, that's one of the funniest pictures in my head that I've ever received! I'm tearing up here, just thinking about it! THANKS for the laugh! I need to stop laughing here so I can start following the thread again. Lol!

I'm very stubborn and hard-headed. God blessed me with a brush with death to get me searching, and it still took months of staring at the truth, and knowing it in my head, to get through to my heart. But YES! I will never be the same. Everything falls into "before" and "after".

Oh yeah, although my mom sent butter and American cheese sandwiches.

And beware the fate of the poor girl who would forget to bring her little round lace doily thingy to pin into her hair. One very memorable day, Sister pinned a Kleenex to the top of one girl's head. When she went up for communion, the priest yanked it off in disgust and dropped it on the floor. I don't think anyone breathed for 15 minutes!

That poor girl is probably still in therapy.

Oh, we had a kid who pulled it out of his mouth to look at it after he sat back down. There were terrible and swift repercussions at the hands of the nuns.

Remember all: "You don't chew Jesus!"

It made me sad at the time and still does. Not just because he was my classmate but he really was a quiet nice boy that told me how he wanted to be an altar boy. If he was a loud mouth obnoxious boy, it would still bother me but not so much.

Then I am so sorry I laughed. It just gave me a mental picture like that on The Christmas Story, with the tongue on the frozen flag pole.

did he ever become an alter boy?

RCC - the control empire - and subject to change whenever....

Priest says one thing, nun says another. I had a friend to used to go to the adjoining parish for confession. He liked the priest better - he didn't give him prayers as a penance for his one sin. He advised him what to do and encouraged him. Word must have gotten out, he didn't last long there - maybe he left or maybe transferred.

When you spend 13 yrs in Catholic school, you have lots of stories. However, I did like most of the nuns.

I was scared to death of all but one of the nuns. It was good practice for basic training - make yourself small and keep your trap shut! They sense fear!

You laugh ONLY because you didn’t know the kid. I don’t remember what happened to him - I don’t know if he moved away or what. No recollection about him after that. I think it shocked me at the time so it was burned into my memory. And I KNOW it shocked him and truly embarrassed this quiet little boy. Just what he needed, right? Others kids would laugh and be proud when reprimanded.

You know, he’s probably laughing about it today - and no doubt a Christian!

They sense fear

Interesting. Never thought about it like that. Because I wasn’t fearful of them, except the very old Sr.Eugenia - bitter to the core. All the rest get an A+, except Sr. Dolorette, she gets a B because I’m kind. ;)
