I’m torn between believing this is real, or that Da Vinci created it.

The Bible tells us the body of Jesus was wrapped in multiple pieces of cloth and that his head was wrapped in a separate cloth from those which shrouded his body. I think it's a middle age fake.

For me, I try to look at the facts without wanting to come to any particular conclusion. So far I’m not convinced one way or the other.

Watch “The Face of Jesus” on the History Channel. It’s on tonight and tomorrow. Very good analysis on the shroud.

You need to watch the History Channel 2 hour program about the Shroud of Turn that was televised this past Tuesday. The goal of the show was to create an image of what Jesus, (to skeptics, the man in the shroud) looked like. One of the people from the Shroud of Turin Research project said that there was no paint of any type on the shroud.

It was a really good and unbiased show.

The Shroud pre-dates Davinci so he could not have created it.

The image is a negative, nobody in the middle ages had any concept of a negative image.

The image contains 3d holographic information.

The image is contained only in the very outer fibers on both sides of the cloth, it was not inked in.

The image shows every last detail of Jesus’s scourging and crucifixion, front and back, even the fine marks caused by the specific type of Roman whip used during the time, and scars caused by the crown of thorns.

The Shroud is the most studied human artifact of all time, using the most modern scientific instruments available. If it was a fake it would have been clearly identified as such by now. But that is not what is happening as studies continue, what is happening is the discovery of more and more evidence that it is authentic.

Watch the History channel special, and watch the video “The Fabric of Time”, for all the latest info on the Shroud. The chance that it is a fake is somewhere from zero to none.

Just goes to show that you shouldn't read any of Dan Brown's crap.

Ignore Picknett and Prince... their book is a fantasy. The shroud was put on display in Lirey, France, 101 years before Leonardo was born.

There are aspects to the shroud that prove its existence before Da Vinci was even born. Watch the History Channel special. You'll see.

Well, if THAT'S the biggest point of contention with you - it shows you have studied NOTHING about the Shroud. that is the easiest debunker of all the debunk. Good grief.

Even the carbon dating - even though proven way off and myriad scientific tests prove the Shroud much older than the early carbon dating - puts the Shroud to hundreds of years BEFORE Leonardo (da Vinci) was even born.

Now, granted, Leonardo was a genius, but even HE was not THAT clever.

Might I humbly suggest that you might find it interesting to actually do some research on the decades of research that has been done? You might even learn something.

If I sound a little brittle, it's just that I've been studying and researching and corresponding with those who are experts on the Shroud, for 50 years. It's irritating to have people make such uninformed remarks, based not on even one of the thousands of pieces of scientific evidence - but on one - particularly the flimsiest - deliberate fallacy.

It puzzles me that so many who purport belief in Our Lord, are so disinterested that they don't bestir themselves to do any studying on the Shroud and then remark on the www, casting doubt that could affect countless others. You obviously have access to the Internet. No excuse for ignorance on the Shroud.
