Prayer Thread Request please

This is Mrs Chief Engineer stuck up in Canada, The Chief Engineer himself was admitted to hospital early Sunday morning with breathing difficulties and a host of other medical difficulties. After he arrived at the E.R. the doctor honestly did not expect him to make it.
Both step-sons have kept me as up to date as they can and I have spoken with him by phone twice today. He sounded fine at 2 pm but when I phoned at 8 pm he was starting to have problems once again. He is on a respirator and a host of medications hoping that he will recover. In the meantime I am stuck up here in Canada praying fervently that he will recover as he is the best thing that has happened to me even though it is difficult for both of us being apart as has been the case since June.
He wants me to remain in Canada for surgery on the arm I had originally injured in May of 08 which was re-injured in Oct of 09 but there is a 3 year waiting list for that surgery and nothing is being done for it at the present time and I want nothing more than to be at his side. It is a difficult situation so I am asking that a prayer thread be started. I apologise for sending this to you but I don’t know who the actual Freeper is who starts Prayer threads. Yes please and thanks if you will, I was going to phone the hospital earlier this evening which is when I discovered my mother had stolen the paper which had the hospital phone number and the code I needed so I would be able to receive any information on his condition, by the time I had discovered the theft it was too late to phone his son in ID for the info so I am left in the dark as to what his current condition is. It is extremely difficult not being at his side and having my mother actively working against us! PRAYER is all I have at the moment and many many tears.

Praying that those polyps can be successfullly removed by the surgeon and that Mrs. Chief Engineer can join you at your bedside.

My step-son came up and picked me up May 8th and we arrived at the Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center at 4:30 am Mother’s Day. When we walked into the room Don was sitting up in bed waiting for us to arrive and a great big smile filled his face when he saw me. He has a trach tube so he cannot talk which meant our correspondence consisted of me speaking and him writing. When he had his endoscopy the gastroenterologist had great difficulty getting the tube down his throat which is when they discovered that he has squamous cell carcinoma (one of the easier to treat cancers) but he has lost a lot of weight going from 179 lbs down to 140 lbs when I left last Saturday to return to Canada. I truly wanted to stay, exhausted as I was being his sole caretaker 24/7, but Don and the rest of the family insisted that I return to Canada so I could receive the surgery on my arm/shoulder while he has has treatments. With great reluctance I had to accept the fact that he is not well enough to remain in our home and hasn’t been well for quite some time, so he is in an assisted living facility directly across from where he will receive his treatments. (We knew he would be unable to face a daily 140 mile round trip for the treatment and the home seemed to be the best option, while the cats came north with me) Upon my arrival at home a neighbor came over to greet me with some freshly baked banana bread and I burst into tears. She gave me a hug, commented on how much I had shrunk (because of the compressed discs in my back I have lost 5 inches) then she went home and called out 5 other women who I took to calling the “Mormon cleaning squad”. The first night I stayed up until 4:15 am just trying to sort through things and I actually fell asleep bent over putting clothes into a drawer. I will be forever grateful to the 5 women who came and helped me bring some cleanliness and order to the home prior to Don’s arrival home on the following Friday. We had had visitors (unknown) who had messed around with our internet connection AND Don’s computer so were without internet service for almost two weeks (which is why I have not been posting on that one topic of major interest to me.(especially considering I was the one who had received death threats on the long thread which were removed by the mod) Papers and other items were missing from the house but we simply didn’t have time to make a full accounting of what exactly was missing and the sherriff has been informed and will be watching the home during our absence. With all that has been going on and what went on before I left the U.S. I have become suspicious and leary of posting except by Freepmail to a few individuals and I am still trying to catch up on my sleep while I pray daily that Don will successfully make it through his radiation and chemo treatments. At this time even the doctors don’t know if they can save his voice box so I am trying to find someone who can convert a recording he had made in 1946 singing “Ave Maria”. He was classically trained and the recording is on a 10 1/2 inch record at 33 1/3 RPM, now I feel old because I know what I just typed. LOL
While Don was at home we made the most of the time we had and spent almost every minute of every day together, but as I did mention it was extremely difficult having to leave and watching him sit outside waving good bye as we pulled away for the long trip back to Canada. It turns out the family were correct though because I saw my orthopedic surgeon on Monday and I don’t need a shoulder ball joint replacement but an entirely new shoulder. There is still no set date for this surgery and I am anxious to have it done. The longer such surgery is put off the less mobility I will have when it is finally done. You may pass this on to the prayer group (except for not posting on the Birther Threads, I will send a Freepmail to Starwise regarding my not posting)
I am still angry over my treatment by both the state of ID and the Federal govt employee. ID would accept nothing less than the green card, a receipt showing it had been paid for meant nothing to them and yet the NE processing center takes 3 years to process green cards. I would have been dead before I received any treatment, at the same time Jr’s aunt who was ordered deported 3 times is allowed to stay, live in public housing and receive money from the tax payers. I wasn’t even given due process as guaranteed under the 14th Amendment. Don started to deteriorate immediately after I left and I can’t help but put some of the blame on both levels of government for that. Thank-you so much for your continued concern and correspondence as well as the prayers for both of us. It is lovely to know there are people who care! Have a good remainder of the week with our gratitude.
