Thank you all. Yeah, PatriotGirl. As soon as I dried off from swimming the Tiber I noticed all these miracles all around. The first were Eucharistic miracles. And then I saw how many miracles happen through our Lady's intercession --even when we haven't asked for miracles.

When theology is an intellectual enterprise only, one misses a lot. When one looks around, there is all this grace, shaken down, pressed together, running over!

And Jean: Yeah, hic sunt lachrimae rerum, but the tears are tears of happiness and relief.

And T-C: Somebody asked me today if there was anything I hadn't done. I thought and answered: Succeed - or make a profit. Oh yeah, and give birth.

I don’t recall succeeding or making a profit, either, MD ... and I’d have been happy to let someone else give birth!

As the Greeks said (according to my Great Courses CDs) you don’t know whether you’ve succeeded until you’re dead, and then I suppose you don’t care. I do have Anoreth successfully launched, at least, off fighting the Commies in Seattle (with rude conservative t-shirts and snarky ridicule.)
