I think there’s a FAITHFULNESS TO GOD
that gets communicated to SOME RC’s that surpasses that of many Prottys.
I think there’s a respect for GOD’S AUTHORITY that gets communicated to SOME RC’s that surpasses that of many Prottys.
I think there’s a respect for the place GOD PUTS ONE IN that’s communicated to SOME RC’s that surpasses that of many Prottys.
I think many of the RC edifice’s outreaches to the poor are well designed and well carried out—probably on many RC’s parts—out of a good heart.
Of course I cheer the anti-infanticide position.
I cheer the emphasis on family and marriage stability.
I cheer the principle of religious education though that’s tempered by a lot of content I view as from the pit.
I’m reminded of the old saw . . .
there’s enough bad in the best of us and enough good in the worst of us . . .
Protestants got us beat in Homeschooling and Children’s Ministries. Hands down.
I wouldn’t be homeschooling if it wasn’t for my Protestant friends and I use Switched On Schoolhouse from Alpha Omega Publications. It’s a Protestant outfit and the best education for the cheapest price IMO. 300.00 non-consumable curriculum means I educate my girls for 150.00 a year + paper and printer ink.
I’ve turned tons of people onto SOS. I just skip 6th grade (the year of the reformation focus) and the girls go to CCD. They do Bible Study there in non-sacremental years (2nd and 8th).
They are as Cornilus was in Acts 10, 'good' people who as yet are not saved.
If Cornilus had taken the Roman Catholic route to salvation (a process rather than an event-faith alone in the saving work of Christ) he would not have been saved.
Many 'good', kind, generous people from all kinds of different religions and denominations are going to hell because 'ALL have sinned and come short of the glory of God'(Rom.3:23)and they have rejected the free gift of salvation which is by faith in the Blood of Christ (Rom.3:24-25)
