Right, because the only thing the protties can point to is the scriptures. Lacking Holy Tradition and the Eucharist, they are stuck with TOPIOS, and I think it makes some of them feel inadequate--hence the frothing passion with which they assert nothing else matters.
Actually, MOST Bible-believing Christians are Catholic or Orthodox and we DO NOT agree with this statement.
It's time that the Protestant MINORITY learns that they DO NOT speak for the majority who disagree with them. In fact, if they were wise Protestants would start looking into why they don't even agree amonst themselves, for THIS is the PROOF of the failure of YOPIOS.
They are doomed to frustration, because they keep going to a "piece of wood" that does not see or hear to settle their disputes instead of the pillar and foundation of the truth.
Oh, good grief. The Bible is God’s Word to us. Go ahead and believe your church fathers and your traditions of men. If they contradict the Word of God, they’re phony.
That is one of the most telling RC posts I've ever seen.
Some of us have been well aware for a long time that SOME RC's place Mary above Scripture. Oh, it's not per se in the encyclicals--at least not brazenly overtly. It's not per se in the dogma . . . It's in the nuances and most brazenly in the behaviors and in the attitudes.
CHRIST, THE LIVING WORD, HAS ANOTHER PERSPECTIVE ON SCRIPTURE:
Heaven and earth shall pass away; My Words shall never pass away.
And
To satan: IT IS WRITTEN . . .
IT IS WRITTEN . . .
IT IS WRITTEN . . .
Somehow, I don't think the piercing question will be for some: "Why didn't you say a hundred more Hail Mary's . . . "
But instead . . . "Why did you diminish My Word and elevate My Mother?
I don't think humiliated stammering will avail a great deal at that point.
THANK GOD ALL WE CAN POINT TO IS SCRIPTURE. IT IS ALL WE NEED.
