He only stammering response was, "What is that?!" She had reached the age of seventeen and never seen a sky full of stars!

Also MY daughters response when camping in CO for the first time! (But a bit younger...)

Our ranch in Utah is at 8900 ft altitude, 18 miles from the nearest town of 1200 people.

Now you've done it!

Envy, lust and coveting have ALL reared their ugly heads!!

I should have bought the whole town of Cisco a few years ago, when it was going for $165,000!

I chuckled at the “death march.” I once hiked in the Badlands and we made a slight error and didn’t notice that the hike we were doing generally required 2 days rather than 1, and the buffalo had knocked down a good number of the trail markers, so sometimes we had to backtrack and find the marker. It was like a military forced march on low rations.

When people ask me where I’m from I tell them I live at “Vancouver, Canada” despite I actually live in ...

I do the same, for people KNOW where Indianapolis is, but I get a blank look when I tell them Greenfield area!

Even though it’s dangerous, I like to hike alone because there is NO whining!!!

(Well; less anyway ;^)

These folks (wife and another couple) went a whole MILE before I plopped them down under a shade tree (As much as a big Utah Juniper can give ya) with their snacks and water and more in a pothole in the creek just upstream, while I forged ahead another 3.5 miles looking for El Dorado.

Them crummy little FRS handheld radios pooped out after about a mile or two, so I had no contact with them any more.

After finding myself out on the side of the canyon where the ledge petered out, it was time to go back - yet emptyhanded one more time.

I get back to where I’d left them and they were GONE!

I soon got them on the radio and told them I was heading to the van.

Turns out that my buddy (?) had put his water in MY backpack! (Thank you Lord!) and the ladies wouldn’t drink their’s because in had ‘specks’ in it! and they didn’t find the pothole, so they went back.

To this DAY I have to put up with their DARING ADVENTURES while on this trip!

Good, I’m glad you’re examining my posting history - I’m not ashamed of what I write or the positions I’ve taken.

With the exception of no. 10, we agree on most points. This was a reasonable post with no slams at anyone, and I applaud you on that. Our disagreements occur when there are personal comments made, usually at the end of your posts. BTW, while I agree with the DNR order since your wife was presumably conscious and able to indicate her wishes, I do disagree on the Schiavo case. After reading about what was involved in dying from dehydration, I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy.

On another note, I have wondered what the LDS official position is on the Harry Potter movies?...I love them, but they do involve a lot of witchcraft.

I'm trying to recall where Cisco is. Is it near Milford? When you said Cisco, it brought to mind the town of Callao on the fringes of western Utah. If you never seen a living ghost town, this one is it. Almost all the houses (all fifteen or so of them) are log cabins. It is one of the most isolated and forelorn spots on the planet. And I LOVE it!

If you never seen

should read ..."If YOU'VE never seen"

Oh my....that typo is causing my mother to cringe even though she doesn't know it exists....it sending shock waves through the atmosphere direct to her.

You would be welcome here in Osage Co, OK.....

Up on the prairie you can really stretch your eyes. Oh, and the night stars are awesome.

I've heard airline pilots say it's one of the biggest "black outs" on their routes.

Fair enough...I figured as much. And I'm very sorry for your loss. It must have been a very tough time in your life...

My father died of cancer many years ago now....It was the classic "best of times, and the worst of times"...We talked of many things, that we had never spoke about. We laughed, we hugged. And we had to talk about some uncomfortable items...also.

I took a leave of absence and took care of him for 5 months...He passed away at my house.

BTW, I work in the health-care biz..3 days a week. I've personally witnessed thousands of dying patients...I could tell a million stories about families, and patients. I agree with your DNR decision, fwiw-

You fill the bill of the standard LDS apologist.

Knowledgablely stating irrefutable evidence and standing up for truth, justice and freedom of religion (which is the american way)

Edward, If I were you, I would consider this a compliment.

You're not worth arguing with.

Then again, now CC will refuse to debate, but instead referr lurkers toa site where the standard of truth is much lower than FR, oh well, Lukers are smarter than you think CC, they know where you are directing them, and many FM me asking me if it's even worth it to go to such sites, I tell them No, but they should visit at least one to get teh Feel of the site.

By your fruits ye shall know them, and the Anti's Frutiness is on full flagrant display here on thsi thread, I hope amny lurkers are reading yours and the other Anti's posts on this thread.
