Iscool, I wish I could explain it but I don't understand. Revelation and Daniel, both, have to do with this but parts of their prophcies are way over my head.
It has to do with the end of days and has something to do with how long the 2 witnesses are here, and how long Satan's time is. When you study this think of the days as years (Daniel's time). Also, any prophecy given in months, has to do with Satan (lunar, of the dark) while prophecy in days is for us, children of the light.

We just studied this in our Bible Study of Revelation, but I would have to get the book. There is more than just this one reference to this many days.
The number of days equals three and a half years or 42 months. You're right on the witnesses. I'll get back to you on this one.
