I'd love to get into the Dominicans but there is no local Dominican priest here so we can't have a Chapter. The Carmelites have offered me admission and I love their charism. I am very Marian focused. However, the Dominicans were always my first love.

I had been aware of tertiaries but it was hard to leave being a clergyman to become an RC and I hjad kind of a deal with God that if he wanted me to be anything more than a pest in tghe pew he'd have to send me a telegram.

So the other day a lady I hardly know (but have hardly known for years, and I admire her piety) asked me if I'd ever consider signing up. And my, ah, heart was strangely warmed.

I do very much like the guys at our church now, but I have to say that I have known some major pinko 60's type touchy-feely Dominicans as well. But I emailed the pastor today and thanked him for his ministry to me before the surgery (anointed and shriven and counselled) and told him that when the Easter rush was over we needed to talk about this.

**I am very Marian focused. **

Me too, and I didn't realize it until I started posting on FR and my posts would be littered with people disdaining for Blessed Virgin Mary. I would come out like Joan of Arc and not listen much, I'm afraid.
