Martin Luther, indeed. He has eloquently and accurately described why I can no longer call myself Episcopalian. I do wonder whether he gives the 'oppostion' to much credit for having such a well-thought out strategy. There is certainly a conspiracy, but it is orchestrated by the Enemy. Even those humans who think they are so cleverly leading the charge are merely being swept up as unknowing (I hope) pawns in one of the more hellish attacks on Christ's church in history. They think of themselves as progressive, as leading a new thing when in reality they are being drawn inexorably by the one who would, if it were even possible, destroy God's people, his church and God himself.

Thankfully, we know the long term outcome, but it is heart-rending to see the pain this is causing in the meantime.

Well stated. However, I think that we inflict the pain upon ourselves. Far too many who know that TEC has left them, are themselves fearful of leaving simply because nit represents "change"..and a slight modicum of inconvenience. Well, central plumbing represented "change" as well, and surely no one wants to go back to the outhouse. In the end, the new Anglican church being "erected", both spiritually and in actuality in this country, will be far more vibrant, meaningful, and oh, yeah..orthodox...(G). And what to do with all those soon to be empty churches that TEC will have/..well, I guess they can start by painting the doors PINK!.
